Once there was a king 6 May 2022: Rani was enjoying the fragrance of perfume. Raja calls from behind, fallen on floor and flirts with Rani. All of a sudden a servant calls Rani outside, as the inspector is here to meet her.Iqbal’s mother comes in his room, and questions how he decided to construct a school over his father’s land, she also has a share in it and she won’t permit him to do so.Raja tears the legal notice, he insists Kaal is a murderer. The inspector says Kaal is among the prisoners who are being freed. Raja asks Rani to speak to governor and get these orders cancelled.
Iqbal tells her that his father named nothing after her, as he knew about her intentions. She reminds him of his responsibility towards his step mother and sister Afreen, Iqbal says he can never forget his responsibility. He leaves, and the mother was sure he would fall one day.
Rani tells Raja there is no evidence against Kaal, he has been calm in jail. Raja insists that she can’t let Kaal come out of the jail, else he would again hurt them. Iqbal was curt why these women take such high seats when they always have to stay home. He calls her home, Rani questions how dare he called her home and must take an appointment from her secretary.
He insists to meet her today, but Rani slaps the phone angrily. The call wasn’t disconnected, Iqbal hears Raja and Rani’s argument where Raja asked if she would use her legal rights or not.Later, the governor calls Rani and asks why she denied meeting the Nawab. Rani says he misbehaved, the governor says she can’t prioritize her personal commitments, as Nawab is a really respectful man. She must meet him today at four. Rani looks towards the clock, she had only twenty minutes.
Raja comes across Iqbal on the way, Iqbal taunts him about hiding behind his wife and bringing her to front. Raja was enraged.
Meenu informs Rani that Iqbal has left home already. Rani asks about Raja, but Meenu says he hasn’t yet arrived. Meenu leaves. Iqbal knocks at the door, Rani says he is one and a half hour late, he used his approach to waste her time; why should she value his time. She was about to pass by, her saree gets close to him. He asks where she got this perfume, Rani says he has no right for such personal questions. Iqbal says he reached late only because of her husband, she can even ask him about it. Rani says if he doesn’t apologize her for being late, she is leaving. He might go to anyone, she isn’t afraid of anyone. Iqbal was curt, what Rani thinks about herself.
In the jail, Kaal was playing chess. The inspector brings some other prisoners, Kaal shouts at him to leave the jail as a lion only stays alone. The inspector leaves, while the prisoners bring out a stabber.
In the palace, Ambika was worried about Kaal’s release. Raja comes to reaffirm he is here, she shouldn’t worry about Kaal. Rani apologizes Raja for not being able to do what he said. Raja shuts her mouth, as he can’t lose the time he gets with her. He kiss the back of her hand, saying he isn’t angry at her. He apologizes for being angry, and gets flirty again and drags her to hug her tight.
In the jail, Kaal counters the goons. He cuts on his own wrist. The police inspector comes in watching him injured, Kaal drags his gun and leaves the jail locking them inside.Rani was working with files in the room, when Raja comes in chef’s cap with food for her. There was cooked vegetable and heart shaped bread for her. He asks her to tear his heart in parts, but eat it. Rani says she didn’t know he can do this all, Raja says he can do a lot but she never provides him with a chance. He feeds her with his own hands, and was about to bite the remaining curry off her lips. The phone bell rings suddenly. Rani goes downstairs to take the call.
Afreen comes to Iqbal asking why he is worried, she never likes him tensed. She inquires what that MNA has said. Iqbal says he doesn’t want Afreen to come across that rude MNA. Afreen wonders since when he has started to take impressions from others; she know that brothers like him are blessings from God. Iqbal considers her as a blessing. Afreen takes a leave from him, to go to sleep.
Rani was worried how Kaal can flee from jail. The inspector says Kaal has vanished somewhere near the mosque, they have already caught the other three prisoners. Kaal jumps into Iqbal’s house, and points at gun towards Iqbal. Raja warns Rani that she can’t go out of the house to look for Kaal. Rani says Kaal only flee jail because of her, she can’t let any innocent suffer because of her.
She tells Raja she has taken the decision already, now it’s his turn to decide if he is with her or not.Kaal asks Iqbal refuge for a single night and warns him to get away. Iqbal moves towards Kaal saying he can’t let him stay here even for a moment. He holds Kaal’s hand, the gun bullet was shot. Afreen enters screaming, Kaal holds her from the neck. Rani and Raja come there, she asks Kaal why he is interfering the innocents. Kaal asks if MNA cares for public. Iqbal moves towards Kaal. Kaal asks Raja what he would do, if he would hold hand over his father.
Raja comes to cover Rani. Rani takes a chance to hold a stone vase and throw it over Kaal. Iqbal holds Afreen away, Kaal brings about a stabber. Iqbal holds the stabber with his hand, blood shed from his arm. Kaal and Iqbal wrestle, while Raja supports. The police had arrived, and takes Kaal away. They wonder how they came here. Rani says she couldn’t stay home, as Kaal left the jail to take revenge from them; she couldn’t have put innocent lives on stake. Afreen comes to hug Iqbal, Iqbal asks why she went outside the house so late. Afreen says it was her friend’s birthday, Iqbal was angry at her.
Rani asks him to let it go, she is innocent. Iqbal says it’s his internal matter, she must show her bravery only till it doesn’t cost his sister. It was Rani’s internal matter that caused his sister this trouble. Rani feels bad about his sister who would always need a man for her protection, he must make her sister as strong and independent. Iqbal says in their home, men always walk ahead of women. Raja comes to counter that in their homes, it only matters man and woman walk together, a real man is only the one who can support his wife to move ahead in life. He thanks Iqbal for saving his wife’s life, Iqbal thanks them for saving Afreen’s life and wish it doesn’t happen next time.
The next morning, Afreen’s mother scolds her and was about to hit her for stepping out of the house. Iqbal comes to hold her hand, as females aren’t hit in their houses. Their mother strictly says she doesn’t need his consent for her real daughter’s brought up. Iqbal says their relation is of love only, he would think the best for his sister. The mother leave. Iqbal warns Afreen that he is still angry with her for her mistake.
In the palace, Rani asks Raja if he is behind Kaal running away from jail. Ambika says Raja would never want Kaal to come out of jail. Rani says this exactly happened, Kaal flee from jail and was caught.
Now the court ordered, he shouldn’t be released and this is what Raja wanted. Raja was silent.Iqbal’s man informs him that the three prisoners with Kaal were bribed.
Raja accepts in front of Rani that he had bribed the three prisoners to go into jail with Kaal. He had never thought Kaal would run away from jail. Rani cries wondering why he did so, what if an innocent girl had died. Raja insists for him, only Rani’s life matters. Ambika says Raja did right, to handle bad people right paths never work.Iqbal comes to Rani’s office, Rani asks if he has forgotten what she told him yesterday.
Iqbal reminds her of her oath, and no law allows an MNA to hide her husband’s sin. If she think she can save her husband out of her power he won’t let this done; he would inform everyone how he let Kaal run away from jail so that he is kept imprisoned always. Rani shouts at him to shut up. Iqbal says if she wants him to stay silent, she must sign these papers else his men would inform newspaper journalists about Raja’s reality. Today he is giving her 30 minutes time, he is leaving these papers here. She must call him that she has signed these papers.
