Once there was a king 7 May 2022: Iqbal gets Rani’s call who calls him to palace. She opens the door to Iqbal, he says he didn’t know she would understand him so soon. Raja stood with hand cups, saying she is Rani. Rani says when he came to her office, she has already called the inspector to arrest Raja but Raja surrendered already. Only Iqbal didn’t let her clarify this. Rani had demanded Raja to hand himself to police, and cried badly when he agreed. Raja asked her to bring food for him in jail. Rani calls Raja as his strength. Raja tells Iqbal to look by himself, and remember his love is Rani’s strength. Iqbal says he has seen iron rust from a single corner. Rani says he will now get an appointment, when he apologize her for disrespecting her and other women.
She hands him the file that he holds. Iqbal says now he must break her stubbornness, that won’t let her bend. This game would be interesting now.The next morning, Raja sings in the jail with other prisoners. Rani comes there with breakfast for him.At home, Iqbal was thinking about Rani’s demands for apologizing her. Saleem comes in and asks Iqbal to come and see what she has done now.Rani was serving Raja, he says he is in jail and not on picnic. There is a difference in the lavish dinner, or mere food. A nearby prisoner was angry at his wife for bringing dried bread and daal.
Iqbal replies the lawyers in front of his mother that this land belongs to his father who wanted to construct a school. The lawyers leave angry. Iqbal clarifies to his mother, that this land is a filled with memories of his father. If she doesn’t let him fulfil that one promise, he won’t remember the other ones. Iqbal’s mother comes to give him time of one week, else she would get this land sold. Iqbal remembers Rani’s conditioning.
Rani was packing the breakfast, as Raja didn’t want to eat such lavish food. Raja gets offensive, then apologizes. Raja forbids Rani to think and discuss about Iqbal, Rani assures she only belongs to Raja. They keep hands over each other’s lips, before Rani leaves.
Iqbal comes to see a Sorry card written on his table. He throw it in the dustbin where a puppet bulges. Afreen comes to apologize Iqbal. She reminds him of her childhood, she has soaked her father’s precious papers in water; and then he had saved her from their father. Then, why he gets angry with her after his dead. Iqbal says earlier, he was only a brother but now he has father’s responsibility as well. Her mistake was huge, he won’t forgive her. Afreen says she won’t eat or drink, until she is forgiven. Iqbal gets a call, and tells Afreen to ask Saleem get the car. He takes money into his wallet, Ammi questions where is he taking money. Iqbal was angry she only concerns for money and not him.
Rani asks her driver to get fast, she doesn’t want to be late. A driver stops the car, saying some women are fighting as daily.
The driver stops her for going to such women, Rani insists women are only women and they need her help right now. The lady was fighting with a man over price of a call girl. Rani slaps the man, Shabnam asks why she slapped him. Rani slaps Shabnam as well. Rani says this market works only because of Shabnam, men have given this market to women who are the biggest enemy of women. Shabnam says this market has never closed, Rani was determined to get it shut one day. Shabnam asks her to go and get a case against them. Shabnam tells his man to go and inform the girl they won’t hear a no again. Rani clarifies to the man that a no means no, no matter from a call girl or a pr*stitute. Rani had just left when Iqbal comes to slap the money bad in Shabnam’s door.
Shabnam was upset that this crazy man has now arrived, she says if Iqbal has to save that girl he must pay 2000 thousand. Iqbal tells her to take care of Nusrat. Shabnam wonders what’s in Nusrat that he is crazy about her, Iqbal says he has also bought her silence and leave.
At night, Iqbal watches Afreen sleeping on the dinner table. She stands up at once when he places a hand over her head. She apologizes for sleeping this way, he asks for a promise not to repeat such mistake. She promises. He asks if she had dinner? She denies. He tells her not to stay hungry again, he has no mood to eat. The phone bell rings, a man informs his work will be done tomorrow. Iqbal replies with an OK.
The lawyer assures Rani that Raja would soon get free. Iqbal comes to her office, Rani reminds about her condition. Iqbal taunts she might not read newspaper, else she must have read his apology. Rani challenges she wanted him to ask the whole world, Iqbal boasts a person can apologize without bending. He interrupts that he apologized Rani being a man, only because he has no free time. She must not get loud with him next time, female’s voice seems good when low. Rani rings her bell and instructs Meenu to get their whole staff here. She says till everyone hears, what an apology it would be. He must keep his voice high, as it suits men. She tells him to hurry up, as she also has no time to waste. Iqbal asks if this means he wouldn’t get an appointment till he repeats everything written in newspaper as such. Iqbal asks to confess this in front of some other men of his desire then.
Kaal comes to Raja saying his wife made him come to jail, in a way that he is happy here. Either he is too simple or his wife is really cunning. He doesn’t even regret betraying his own blood. Raja considers being his enemy as the best decision of his life, he clarifies he was his son. Kaal doesn’t leave, and reminds Raja he is Kaal. There is no jail that can keep Kaal in the jail, he would now cut his wife’s neck with the same axe. They wrestle, Kaal breaks Raja’s arm. Rani cries hearing the news, and goes to jail. Raja wipes her tears saying this is mere injury that would heal soon.At home, Iqbal was fuming over Rani’s arrogance. He asks Saleem to call Rani be here in half an hour.
In the jail, Rani advices Raja to lessen his anger. She calls him as angry and arrogant as his father, Raja holds a hand over her. Rani countdown from ten, he smiles watching her face and lowers his hand. Rani tells him to begin this countdown next time he gets angry. She gets weepy as she needs him and can’t stay without him. Raja was about to kiss Rani’s forehead, when someone enters. It was Meenu, she tells Rani that Iqbal is waiting for her in office. Raja tells Rani to leave.Iqbal was sitting in Rani’s office with a bunch of people. Rani asks him to be a bit loud, and confirms if they all can hear. Iqbal accepts he made her wait, she interrupts he came to apologize and has only 2 minutes. Iqbal argues if she really want to hear the word Sorry?, this word would take time to come over his tongue for the first time in life.
Rani gives him two minutes. Iqbal says whatever happens wasn’t his mistake, but for this land’s NOC he would say Sorry. Rani smiles, and asks where he got these men. Iqbal says they are all family people, Rani accepts his apology and gives him an appointment for 10 am tomorrow. Outside the office, the men removes cotton balls from their ears and get their bribe from Iqbal. Rani catches him with this. Iqbal explains he had to apologize in front of people, it wasn’t necessary they heard it. Rani laughs that his appointment wouldn’t be rejected. Their argument was about egos, he had to fight himself to bend in front of her that is sufficient. She takes a leave to go somewhere important, he offers to drop her. Shabnam comes to greet him in the way.
Rani asks if he know her, he denies. Rani says this is what she was thinking, he saves women’s respect and she tries to sell them. Iqbal takes a leave from Rani, and goes to bribe Shabnam again for staying silent.Raja calls Rani from jail to bring food. She informs Raja that Iqbal has arrived and calls Meenu to bring his file. She reads the request to open a wine house, Iqbal thinks she must not have thought he would try to open girl’s school. Rani says she would never accept this request. Iqbal says girls have a right, and they must begin from somewhere. Rani counters that girls can get nowhere from wine houses and stamps the papers with NOT APPROVED.
Iqbal leaves, but Meenu comes with the right file of Iqbal, he wants to open a school for girls. Rani was worried.At home, Iqbal speaks to his mother who was evacuating house, and tells him about preparations for tomorrow’s auction of the land at which he was about to fulfil his father’s dream. Iqbal argues she had given him a time for one week. Ammi replies that MNA made him leave hopeless. Iqbal goes away. The lawyer comes to his Ammi, she bribes him to keep an eye over Iqbal.In the office, Rani was upset about being careless. All of a sudden, Meenu drops a cup of tea over the file.
Meenu was upset that now they must again apply for papers, and may take time. Rani says this time, she would get the papers ready and get them stamped from governor as well. She goes to apologize Iqbal.In the jail, prisoners welcome Raja to dinner, but he was waiting for Raja. He boasts his Rani loves him the most.Iqbal shuts the doors over Rani’s face, and says she proved to be illiterate and irresponsible lady. Rani promises to get his papers ready. Iqbal says he doesn’t need anything, she won’t be able to do it. He tells her to leave, before he gets disgraceful.
In the jail, Raja still await Rani when he hears footsteps. It was Meenu, Raja asks about her, Meenu says she was stuck with some important work. Raja was even jealous of work, and says he would only eat with Rani. No matter how late, but she would surely come here. Meenu leaves the food.In the office, MNA thinks if she is finding it difficult to get passed a file how much difficult it must be for a common person. His colleague brings her a newspaper that the land she is talking about has an auction tomorrow. Rani hurries to get the file signed.
Afreen insists on Iqbal to have food, but he was angry at Rani. Governor’s secretary tells her that he hasn’t yet arrived.
She notices a pile of files, and wonders what if he forgets her file. She decides to wait for governor.In the jail, prisoners taunt Raja to wait for his wife. The inspector comes to inform him about a phone call, Rani says she is aware he is angry but today she committed a huge mistake, and she needs to improve it. Raja was angry that she forgot him, Rani agrees yes she forgot him, who is he? Raja was angry and tells her to finish her works, then talk to him. He slaps the phone and leave. Rani was upset and pray tomorrow is a good day.The next morning, the auction begin. Iqbal sat on a side while the land was being bid. He recalls his promise to his father.
Rani was sleeping on the couch, the secretary tells her that governor didn’t come. She was worried.Iqbal recalls apologizing Rani.Raja stood awake in the jail, remembering her promise to bring him food daily. He also recall Kaal and Iqbal’s taunts and was curt Rani neglect him because of such a person.Rani comes to interrupt the auction and announces this land can’t be auctioned, legally this land can’t be sold. Iqbal comes there. Rani says Iqbal Khan wanted to construct a girl’s school but there was a misunderstanding and she got a wine house file; she didn’t listen to him and rejected the proposal. Until she came to know about the reality it was late. She then decided to take the file to governor by herself. The governor signed the file. Iqbal was shocked to hear about it, and holds the file from Rani.
Rani apologize for her misbehavior, she used her power and position in a wrong way. She would never forget this lesson. People there, clap for Rani. Iqbal apologizes, as he thought she must be weak being a woman but for her work and her determination she is above men. He apologize for developing a consent about her, by himself.Raja was sitting along in jail, when Rani comes announcing about hot tea. He looks towards him angrily, then breaks the hot tea cup hurting Rani’s feet. Iqbal also burns his feet, but doesn’t notice as he was really happy. He leaves for a meeting with a perfume.Rano holds Raja’s hand, she is really sorry.
Raja shouts he needed her time, he never disturbed her during work time but after that, all her time is his. She must decide who is more important for her, he or that Nawab? Rani says it was really important to improve her mistake. Raja says she must learn to live with her mistakes, Rani says in one day his land must have got auctioned. Raja complains she forgot him because of that Nawab. She must decide who has a priority in her life, he or her work? Rani cries badly.Iqbal comes to Shabnam’s place who was worried what if Nusrat hurts herself inside. She calls Iqbal for help, as Nusrat has locked herself in the room.
Rani returns to palace crying badly. Ambika comes behind her concerned. Rani cries hugging her, that she lost. She never thought about hurting Raja, but today he was heartbroken. He was always with her, but today he thinks she left him behind. She would never forgive herself. Raja was also crying in the jail.
