Imlie 17 May 2023: Malini attends Bhaskar Times. Her employee informs that he got a breaking news. She asks what shall she do. Employee says villagers forcefully abducted a respected working man from Delhi. Malini says she doesn’t care what villagers do, he should cover a classy city news or else search for a new job. Employee apologizes. He gets a call and says he cannot cover Pagdandiya news. Malini stops him and asks him to tell her about the story. Employee says Pagdandiya villagers forcefully abducted a Delhi man and punishing him unnecessarily. Malini thinks forcefully trapping city boys is Pagdandiya villagers’ old hobby, she taught a lesson to Pagdandiya’s heroine and now its villagers’ turn. She orders employee to immediately cover the story as she herself will write an article on it. He leaves.
She thinks Pagdandiya snatched her father and husband from her, she will ruin Pagdandiya’s name. Imlie on the other side thinks, she will not let her village’s soil spoilt and will take her village’s name to the new heights that no evil can touch it.Imlie enjoys jalebis with Cheeni. She gets her editor’s phone and briefs him about the story she is covering and promises to take Pagdandiya’s name to new heights. Cheeni asks her how is she so brave and teaches a lesson to big goons. Imlie says she got her courage from her dadda, but Cheeni is born brave and is a god of bravery. She describes how Cheeni bravely fought with both her hands since childhood. Meethi walks in and twists their ears for not returning home last night. Imlie says she will praise her for her brave act.
Cheeni describes how Imlie saved Binny from forceful marriage. Imlie says she already prepared the report and will publish it. Meethi feels proud of Imlie.Villagers walk to Imlie and tongue lash her for trying to break their village’s century old customs and adopting an orphan girl Cheeni. Cheeni warns them to bother about their family instead and reveals their secrets. They walk away embarrassed. Villagers clap for her. Cheeni asks Imlie how was her bravery. Imlie says she rocked. They all 3 chant girl power and play around. Imlie looking at Cheeni tells Meethi that she is preparing Pagdandiya for the future and will take its name to new heights. Meethi pampers her.
Malini thinks Imlie wants to take her village to new heights, but she ruined it with her article in front of the whole world. Employee informs her that they printed a wrong news as the city boy was wrong and not villagers. Malini says its villagers’ conspiracy and they do it repeatedly. Employee says this time villagers are right, so they should stop printing and write a clarification article. Malini says story will print as it is. Employee says they will incur losses, so they should Aryan’s permission once. Malini says if she should take a permission from a man who didnt’ step into Bhaskar Times since 5 years. She thratens to kick him out of job if he doiesn’t print it. Employee leaves. Malini thinks she will ruin Pagdandiya’s name.
Aryann imagines Imlie who asks to speak to her if he misses her so much. Aryan says he doesn’t want to miss her and he doenst’ have any place for her in his life. She disappears. Arpita and Narmada walk in hearing his shouting and seeing burnt photos on floor scold him to stop punishing himself. Arpita says he sent Imlie away who used to control him. Aryan says he wants to erase Imlie’s memories from his brain. Narmada insists him to speak to Imlie once as even Imlie lost what he lost and is going through same pain. Malini enters and says even she lost her baby and knows the pain. She asks Narmada to please stop reminding Aryan about his pain repeatedly. Aryan says she doesn’t have any right to forcefully advice his family entering his bedroom without his permission and asks what the hell she is doing here.
She says she wouldn’t come if he would have attended office and shows him news article, says Pagdandiya people are still forcefully catching innocent city boys and ruining their lives, they both have faced problems in their lives because of Pagdandiya and hence she wants to expose Pagdandiya. She says she will not print it if he still has any feelings for Imlie. He says he does and she can print whatever she wants to. Malini thinks she cannot decide if she hates Imlie more or Aryan.
Imlie gets Cheeni ready for school and asks her to reach school directly. Cheeni asks who will be her camera person in her absence. Imlie says there are others for that. cheeni asks her to give her phone then. Imlie says phone is not allowed in school. Cheemi hides phone in her tiffin box. Villagers inform Imlie that a city news paper printed a news that Pagdandiya’s illiterate villagers forcefully abduct innocent city boys and get them married to their girls. Imlie asks news paper’s name. Villager says something like suraj mukhi. Aryan reads news article.
Imlie meets her news paper editor and asks who published wrong news about their village. Editor says its a big publishing company and they can’t fight with them. Imlie says they can with video proof in her mobile which Cheeni recorded, then realizes Cheeni took it to school. Editor says they cannot do anything without proof as public trusts big media houses and not small news papers like them. Imlie says they can with their intelligence, now Pagdandiya will speak and whole world will listen to it. He asks what does she mean.
Imlie interviews Binni who praises Imlie for saving her from forceful marriage and ending the custom of forceful marriage from Pagdandiya. She says a city news paper printed a wrong news against her that she trapped a city boy, but the truth is he mentally harrassed her and demanded to have a physical relationship with him. News channel viewers criticize Bhaskar Times’ wrong reporting. Malini’s employee tells his colleague that he warned madam not to file a wrong report, but she didn’t listen to him. Malini overhears him and thinks let the villagers do whatever they want to. Mob protest outside Bhaskar Times office. Malini calls Aryan for help. Aryan reaches office and seeing the mob protest scolds Malini for printing the wrong news. Malini says village girl is lying using emotional drama.
Aryan orders his assistant to call the news channel’s editor. He watches Binni repeating Imlie’s emotional words and recalls Imlie. Malini says the girl is emotionally manipulating everyone against their news channel. Assistant connects Aryan to news channel editor. Aryan threatens him that he provoke a sleeping tiger who knows only to attack and asks if he thinks he can ruin his news paper’s reputation with a wrong manipulative video. Editor gets afraid. Imlie walks to editor and asks who is frightening him. Editor says city news paper’s boss. Imlie takes receiver to speak to the boss/Aryan when Cheeni snatches phone from her and jokes on Aryan and misbehaves with him, irritating him. Imlie and editor enjoy her talk. Editor praises Imlie for upbringing Cheeni so brave. Imlie recalls Aryan fighting with her and breaking up with her.
Aryan asks employees who wrote that report. Malini recalls forcing employee to print that report and says its not employee’s mistake as village girl manipulated everyone with a fake story. She promotes employee instead and praises him to keep up the good work. Imlie pampers Cheeni for misbehaving with news paper boss and asks her to return to school. Cheeni drops news paper andasks what what is it. Editor says its a rival news paper which is a big publishing house and its boss is very angry as he must have incurred huge losses. Cheeni reads news paper name as The Bhaskar Times. Imlie is shocked hearing Bhaskar Times and says it cannot incur losses. Cheeni says arrogant boss cannot win over girl power.
Bhaskar Times board members criticize Aryan for the stock prices plummeting and company bearing huge losses. Aryan pays their money, breaks their partnership, and asks them to get out. Malini blames village girl for the problems and says villagers should be taught a lesson. She notices Aryan already left. She asks employee to find out in wich police station the city boy is. Imlie drops Cheeni to school lost in thoughts. Cheeni cheers her up. Editor calls her and informs that someone bailed out city boy and asks her to inform Binni to be careful. Imlie says until that monster Girish is out, no girl in Pagdandiya is safe. Girish kidnaps Cheeni, calls Malini, and thanks her for helping him. She says she wanted something in return. He says he kidnapped that cultureless journalist’s daughter who covered this news. Malini recalls her daughter and asks Girish to leave from them and not get caught.
