A decision has to be made as to whether Brady or Eric will receive Daniel’s heart. Maggie informs Nicole of the news and she must say her final good-bye to Daniel before the transplant takes place. Chad is pulled out of his rabbit hole by Thomas and Abigail. Hope’s gut tells her it had to be Stefano who abducted Bo.

Chad wakes up Stefano and Andre. Pretending to still be brainwashed, he claims he made inroads with Belle. Hope listens to Rafe’s final plea to let him handle this. Abigail is told Thomas is healthy and can be released.

Hope squares off with Stefano: she’s come for his confession. Stefano pushes all her buttons, and finally, Hope, ragged, pulls out her gun and shoots him. Brady is awake following his surgery. Eric remains unconscious. Nicole is awash in grief when she sees Chloe, who’s brought Parker to town.

At the DiMera mansion, Rafe bursts into the study, having heard gunfire. He quickly realizes Hope killed Stefano. Eric is wracked with guilt. Chad asks Abigail to marry him. Fynn tells Victor that if Brady takes care of himself, he should make a full recovery.

Steve realizes he has no choice but to find his and Ava’s son in order to get Ava to tell him where she’s keeping Kayla. Roman confides to Rafe his upset over Eric’s situation. Andre returns to the DiMera mansion, having survived the explosion.

Eric is released from the hospital and arrested. Brady confirms to Nicole he’s been dreaming about her. When he describes his dreams, Nicole recognizes them as Daniel’s memories. Victor offers Deimos money to leave Salem.

The day of Daniel’s funeral finally arrives, and tensions run a little high in the aftermath of his death. At the police station, Eric is arraigned and makes bail. JJ refuses to attend the service, saying he has classes at the police academy. Brady still struggles to put meaning to the dreams he’s been having.
