Once there was a king 26 April 2022: Rani was shocked to hear Raja, the photo fell off her hands. A religious procession passed by, Raaj Mata finds the photo in it. Both spotting the same photo at one time. Raja tells Rani that Dadu isn’t crazy, she is the Raaj Mata of Amirkot, mother of Rana Indravadhan Singh Dev and mother in law of Gayatri whom Kaal and Bari Rani Maa killed brutally. Rani denies this truth, Raja insists this is the biggest lie of their lives. Rani runs to Raaj Mata and wants a confirmation from her for everything. Raaj Mata was staring at the photo, her promise with Kunwar ji flash in front of her eyes.
Raja comes to hold Rani saying Dadu is aware of everything that is why she always stopped her from coming to palace. It was because Lakhan had to die, and Raaj Mata took her away from Amirkot. She narrates everything to Rani saying she went crazy before, but now she remember everything. She is Raaj Mata Premvadha Singh Dev, her son and daughter in law loved each other dearly but were betrayed by their own, but love is really stubborn. Their love won, and were blessed by Rani. The day they came to know, Lakhan and Swarna were about to marry, she thought the testimonies are over but the testimony of death still remained.
There was a dark shadow in their lives named Kaal, she narrates the events of Swarna’s death, Rana ji’s murder… Rani runs towards Raaj Mata in shock. Raaj Mata says Gayatri didn’t break at that moment, she was a common lady but her love turned her strong. They stayed in hiding until she bear Rani, and meanwhile Rani Gayatri turned herself strong. Gayatri was killed by betrayal in the palace. She tells Rani how she lost Gayatri, Lakhan thought their child also died. Lakhan decided to be her father, but later they came to know Swarna and her child Bindu were both alive.
They were about to leave Amirkot when Bari Rani Maa came to kill both Lakhan and Swarna. Raaj Mata faints.Bari Rani Maa tells Bindu that Raja and Rani are still together.Rani was crying, Raja sits beside her. Rani jerks his hand away, asking when he got to know about this. Raja replies on the day of their wedding. Rani asks if before wedding or afterward, Raja simply replies before. Rani cries. She complains she always considered herself culprit for the distances between them, he shouldn’t have done so. Raja asks her to trust him, he wanted to tell her the truth still he didn’t want to lose her.
Rani says she married someone whose father killed her parents, this sindoor is actually her parent’s blood. Who gave him the authority to take decisions of her life, today truth has won but their love has lost. She cries loud, while Raja tries to make her up. Raaj Mata comes forward to hug Rani and take her away.At home, Rani cries with photos of Gayatri and Rana ji. Raaj Mata stood behind her and was about to leave when Rani goes to hug her. She says she never got her parents, still it hurts to lose them; and Dadu lived with this pain for years. Raaj Mata asks her to stop crying, Rani was the reason that she lived.
Rani tells Raaj Mata that she swears to her parents, she will get her justice from all her culprits.In the palace, everyone was seated for dinner when Raja enters with police. He announces this is justice that takes place. Kaal asks if he wants to get justice to Rani’s parents, this was before independence. Raja says he is aware he can’t be punished for what he did before independence, right now police is here to arrest him for planning murder over Rani and fake attack over himself. The inspector comes to take Kaal. Outside, Kaal spots Bhandari. Amrita demands why he did this all, Kaal says Kaal never changed, nor will ever change. He promises Raja that the day he comes out of jail, it would be the last day of his life.
Bari Rani Maa thinks she must also be in jail with Kaal, if the county wasn’t independent today.Rani cries in front of the goddess asking why she has to always suffer like this. Back at the palace, Raja also cries in front of the goddess asking why he has to suffer for the sins of King Kaal and Badiranima. Raja Mata goes to comfort Rani. Rani tells her that she will ensure the criminals are punished. Raja Mata says she’s not to do this. Forgiving is better and a courageous act. Moreover, Raja is not the culprit. Rather she advises Rani to be strong and to do her best in life than to suffer from the obstacles others put in her place. At the same time, back at the palace, Queen Ambika comes to comfort a disheartened Raja.
She understands what he is going through and advises Raja that love has no conditions or expectations. He is to help Rani in this situation and not expect anything in return from her. Let Rani makes that decision regarding him in her life. Meanwhile, Raja Mata continues to advise Rani telling her that despite their deaths, her mother and father (Ranaji and Gayatri), could not be separated. And if she and Raja are separated, Kaal will have the last laugh. Therefore, she needs to decide.
On the morning of the next day, Rani was inquiring about her parents as she rests her head on Raja Mata’s lap. Raja Mata comments proudly on Gayatri’s spoken English. A knock was heard at the door and Raja Mata answered. Queen Ambika and Raja were standing there. Raja Mata inquired what brought them here so early. Rani stares coldly at Raja. Queen Ambika replied that she’s the culprit and not Raja. She knew of Rani’s parents and their deaths before Raja did, but hid the truth to protect Rani’s love. Raja Mata assured her that she understands, that what she did was for her children’s love. Queen Ambika asked Rani’s forgiveness and Rani expressed she understands as the queen is a mother.
However, throwing a remark at Raja, Rani said that some people are selfish and when you break someone’s trust, you can’t win it again. She leaves. Raja Mata says she’s stubborn just like her dad. Raja bows low before Raja Mata and asked for forgiveness for his mistakes. She replied that she knows that he is not at fault and understands his situation. Queen Ambika leaves, but asked Raja to remain with them.Rani picks up her hand bag. Raja Mata asked her where she was going and she replied she is going out. Raja comes and offers her some tea which she refused. He told her she seems to have forgotten everything because she cried a lot yesterday.
Rani told Raja Mata that when she returns Raja must not be there. Raja sadly told Raja Mata that she’s not even picking a fight with him, that he can deal with her anger but not her silence. Raja Mata tells him to give her some time as she’s been through a lot.Over in prison Kaal sits on the floor with a mean look on his face. Food is slid to him and he refused it saying that he won’t eat grass and referring to himself as a lion. Badiranima comes to see him and Kaal asked her if she was there to make fun of him. Badiranima says neither of them can do this alone since she too stands to go down like him.
However, with his strength and her intelligence, they can accomplish much. They have to combine or else, individually, they will be in trouble. Kaal asked if they should bury the hatchet. Badiranima replies that it’s the best thing to do. They then shake hands to this.Rani comes across a group of people hailing the name of her parents. She inquired what’s happening. The people replied that justice has been served. That Prince Ranveer (Raja) has announced that he is not the real prince and further he is doing a puja ceremony for the deceased royalties (Ranaji and Gayatri) as well as for Lakhan and Swarna. Watching all of this from a corner, Badiranima says that Raja’s announcement that the real heir was alive will ruin her chances to get the throne.
But no matter what people do to keep her from the throne, she will get it. Rani joins Raja in the puja ceremony. The pandit asked them to think of their parents for a few seconds as he officiates the ceremony.As soon as the ceremony was over Rani turns to leave but encounters a group of policemen. The policemen went to Raja and told him Kaal stands to get 6 to 7 years once convicted. Rani asked who initiated a case against Kaal and the police replied Prince Ranveer. Further, the police said that her husband not only initiated the case but helped them in their investigation. He added that she was lucky to have a husband like him who goes against his own father for his wife’s sake. Rani leaves.
Raja follows her, calling out to her.Suddenly out of nowhere, a man with his face hidden with a cloth, accosted Raja with a knife, threatening him to withdraw the case against Kaal. Raja and a group of goons fought on the street. They hit him in the head and about the body even as he fights them. Raja begins to bleed. Rani picks up a stick and assists Raja in fighting the men but one of the goons hit Rani in the abdomen and she screams in pain as she fell into Raja’s hands. While all of this is happening, Badiranima looks wickedly behind a clump of bushes. The goons run away and Rani leaves.
Raaj Mata bandages Raja’s forehead and asks who got this attack over him. Raja was clueless, he tells Raaj Mata that Rani fought for him but didn’t even inquire about his health. Rani was about to leave, Raaj Mata qualifies that Raja has protected them, he got his father punished and loves her. The string has only stretched, not broken yet. Raja comes to request Rani listen to him for once, they can make it all better. Rani locks herself into the room, Raja calls what else he must do and turns to leave. Raaj Mata stops him asking if his love would lose so easily, Raja angrily tells Raaj Mata he won’t go after her anymore.
Raaj Mata poses to get a pain in chest. Raja and Rani hurry towards them, Raja goes to call the doctor while Raaj Mata sends Rani inside for water. As they both were in the same room, Raaj Mata gets a chance to lock them together saying this door would open only till they have spoken to each other. She was ready to stay outside for a lifetime.In the palace, Bari Rani Maa scolds the goons as Kaal won’t spare them if he gets to know. Amrita overhears her telling the goons that Kaal wanted Raja to get afraid. Amrita thinks her son’s life is endangered.
Rani cleans the room, Raja says their relation is dispersing and she is cleaning the room. If she is angry she must scream and shout, and instead of bed she must hit him. She doesn’t respond. Raja says he always thought she has a courage to punish him but she turned out to be a coward. Rani slaps Raja. He thanks her saying for all these days he thought himself to be a meaningless thing, he has started breathing today. He asks her to get away of this bitterness through her tears because he is aware she loves him. She turns around and gets a pain in her abdomen. Raja recalls Rani being hit by the goons at the place.
Amrita thinks she must inform Raja that the goons were sent by Kaal.In the room, Raja was concerned to see Rani’s injuries. Rani shouts at him to go away, she doesn’t want to see her face. Raja wipes his tears. Outside the room, Raaj Mata serves the food happy that they must have made up by now. Raja comes to break open the bolt, he complains Raaj Mata that his wife can’t bear his touch. He requests Raaj Mata to look after her, and tell her he would always be with her whenever she needs him. Raaj Mata comes to Rani angry that she has lost her love with her own hands, unlike her mother. Amrita comes calling Raja, and tells Raaj Mata about Kaal and the goons. She was afraid Kaal would again attack Raja.
Raja comes to palace, Bindu holds his arm. Raja asks her to leave him alone, Bindu says true friends never leave each other in difficult times. She holds his hand saying they can’t return the times, but can connect themselves with the memories. She requests him to come where they used to sit as friends. Bari Rani Maa watches this from upstairs, wondering what Bindu’s new game is.Amrita was upset that Kaal isn’t ashamed, and Raja has been paying off as repentence. Rani was sure not to let anything happen to Raja. She heads to look for her love, as she can’t let Raja get away from her.
Bindu brings Raja inside the room. They recollect their childhood memories in a decorated room. Bindu asks him for a scrabble game, while mixing some tablets in Raja’s glass of drink. Raja denies, but she insists on him for a single drink and a single game. Raja finally holds the glass. After finishing the drink, Raja cries that he loves Rani dearly and hopes to be able to lessen her pains. Bindu composes herself walking towards Raja, he asks her to leave her for tonight. Raja jerks her hand away as he can stop living, but can’t leave Rani. He loses his control uttering he loves her dearly. Bindu helps Raja to the bed and hugs him.
Raja wish Rani had hugged him this way, she could have heard his heartbeat. Bindu asks what he must have done if Rani was there in her place.Raja straightens up to see Rani in place of Bindu. He hugs her again, promising not to let him get away of him. Bindu lay her head over his chest, while Raja murmurs an apology. Rani speaks to him that I love you, as I have forgiven you. Raja holds her close. Bari Rani Maa watches this from a telescope. Bindu unbuttons Raja’s dress.
There, Rani jumps inside the palace saying she won’t let anything happen to Raja.Raja wakes up in the bed to find Bindu with him. Rani comes calling him, and meets Bari Rani Maa.
Rani tells her she doesn’t want to speak to her. Bari Rani Maa boasts no one has ever been able to cross her. Rani stops her saying her parents and Dadu couldn’t win over her because they only watched her over as an elder, but she foresee her as an old tree who can’t stop the ways of newer streams. She pushes Bari Rani Maa. Raja comes downstairs, Rani runs towards him and cries hugging him. Raja doesn’t hug back. Rani apologizes Raja, as she was punishing him for the mistakes he never committed. Raja stood upset. Rani says she has now understood her love, and can’t live without him. She boasts he only belongs to her and hugs him.
Bindu had come to the staircase wrapped in the sheet. Rani asks him to be his wife again, and demands her mangal sooter back. Raja was unable to speak. Amrita says she will get her mangal sooter back, it’s a right of a wife and Raja would return this right to her in front of everyone. She asks him to get her daughter in law back home tomorrow, she hugs them both as they have already taken many testimonies. Rano holds Raja’s hand behind Amrita, but he withdraws it wondering how he must tell Rani what mistake he has committed
