Once there was a king 6 January 2022: Gayatri complains to Raaj Mata that she cheated her, she had heard about Raaj Mata a lot but Raaj Mata has been disloyal to her. Raaj Mata holds a hand to keep on Gayatri’s arm saying she knows she is worried right now.
Gayatri stops her hand saying she is worried because she wants the answers to her questions, if Raaj mata has those answers. Raaj Mata says that she knew Rana ji doesn’t love her and she also knows that she loves Rana ji. She knows whose love Rana ji needs. She tells Gayatri she got the letter Gayatri had written to Rana ji, she thought Gayatri will teach her son to laugh again and fill his life with happiness again.
Gayatri asks what about her happiness, didn’t she think for once what will happen to her when she will know about the truth. Gayatri says she could live with incomplete love but how will she live with his hatred. Gayatri says she apologizes but she doesn’t want to live here anymore, she is going her home. Raaj Mata says the father’s whose young daughter comes home, she has no idea what he suffers from. Seth Govind will lose his respect and smile and now she isn’t common girl but a Queen of Amirkot. Her responsibility is towards the people of Amirkot and not to her heart. The life is really tough, it’s in her hands now how she makes way for herself. Raaj Mata advices her to rethink. Raaj Mata thinks that she has made her a Queen and she will be a queen. She goes to speak to Rana ji.
Raaj Mata comes to Rana ji and asks what he did. Rana ji smiles and says she did everything, she wants to make puppet of people. She has forgotten that a thread of relations never break, Gayatri tried to break that thread and wore his bride’s dress. Raaj Mata says she isn’t speaking about his wedding night, how he can let Gayatri leave home this way. Rana ji says what she wants him, to kidnap Gayatri? His mother taught him to respect a woman, if Gayatri wants to go to her father’s home should he stop her. He will send her will all respect and if he needed will go by himself to drop her. He says that she did a trade of him, if it came out to be ruined it isnt his mistake. He leaves. Raaj Mata thinks she locked Kokilla herself, who it can be who gave Gayatri the dress of Surakshna.
Gayatri stood thinking about what Raaj Mata had said about the respect of her father. Raaj Mata had dared her to survive the difficulties. Kokilla comes upstairs and finds Gayatri lost in her thoughts. She wonders how she got this dress, and she can only tell this. She must break the silence of Gayatri. She comes to Gayatri and says she is the most beautiful queen, this dress is also beautiful; who gave her the dress. The black veiled lady comes behind.
Gayatri says she wore what Raaj Mata gave, still… Kokilla asks what? Kokilla thinks she doesn’t know anything, she must get her answers. Kokilla asks Gayatri if she knows why Rana ji was so angry with her at her wedding night. Gayatri says no. Kokilla says she will get all her answers now and takes her along. Gayatri comes into the room and looks at Surakshna’s photo in the same dress. Kokilla thinks that she will win in the end and leaves Gayatri in the room. Rana ji was trying to train a horse, Gayatri calls him. He passes by Gayatri, Gayatri says that in childhood she used to turn her face from storm. But the storm in her relation last night wasn’t a play, and if it was she needs her answers. Rana ji asks what she wants to ask. She asks Rana ji why he had married her, and why is he so angry at her, because she wore the dress of Surakshna? Rana ji says he is angry because she had played tricks to get the position of Raani of Amirkot.
Rana ji leaves, Raaj Mata comes to Gayatri and asks her to get ready as the ritual is going to begin. Gayatri says Rana ji knows how to fulfil the rituals not relations and promises. It is better she isnt there in the ritual today, because she won’t be able to lie and people won’t be able to hear truth. She leaves.In the hall, Rana ji waits for Gayatri. Raaj Mata is worried why Gayatri hasn’t come. Kokilla prays she doesn’t come. Bari Raani Maa taunts Raaj Mata this is what she has taught her daughter in law. They were still arguing when Gayatri comes with Surakshna. She takes her seat and thinks about Rana ji’s hatred.
Pandit ji gives a foot ring to Rana ji, he tells him that when a wife wears this, it not only protects her husband but when she gives birth to heir, she feels less pain. Everyone in the hall now talks about the heir. Rana ji sits down to worn the ring and asks for Gayatri’s foot. She stands up instead. Everyone is shocked, Rana ji in enraged and stands as well. Bari Raani maa asks Gayatri why she stood up, the ritual hasn’t ended. Gayatri says that in their society, bangles are an identity of a husband’s life. She can’t wear this ring in foot in the temple today, when she has no relation with Rana ji. Bari Rani maa scolds Gayatri for creating all the drama and dishonoring herself and Rana ji.
Gayatri joins hands and says she apologize everyone at home, but her brought up doesn’t teach her to speak ahead of this. They can question her husband anything they want to. Rana ji shows her the ring and drops it from his hand. He leaves the hall. Seth ji comes to the palace and is worried why Rana ji left. Gayatri says she has to speak to him and asks him to come inside. Seth ji is worried if she knows about all the truth. He comes to Gayatri and asks why she is so worried. Gayatri asks if her and Rana ji’s wedding a trade. She had tears in eyes and questions her father again who was speechless.
She keeps his hand on her head, she asks if he and Bari Raani maa were talking about the same trade. Seth ji asks her to apologize him, that wedding was a trade. Seth ji says that this trade was not done by a business man but a father, she was about to marry that Damodar. At that time, Raaj Mata called him and showed him the letter Gaayatri had written for Rana ji. Gayatri remembers the time when they used to play hide and seek, he used to make Gayatri win because he couldn’t see her get defeated. She says that today, because of this trade, she has really lost. He says he did this to keep her away from tears and worries.
Gayatri says everything get reversed, she is annoyed with him because she had asked him if this was a trade. At that time, he lied. Seth ji says he thought she won’t be hurt. He was hopeful, but forgot that all hopes are never true. He apologizes Gayatri.In the palace, Raaj Mata comes and calls Seth ji out. Seth ji blesses Gayatri by keeping a hand on her head. Raaj Mata says to Seth ji that he should have atleast been ready for this as Gayatri had to know about it one day. Seth ji says that no father can see his daughter in pain. He asks Raaj Mata to let Gayatri go with him. Raaj Mata says that he has married his daughter. She promises Seth ji that Gayatri will not lack anything in the palace, and there is no pain that can’t fill in time.
Seth ji says if this doesn’t happen, he will take Rani Gayatri Devi of Amirkot back home.Raaj Mata comes to Gayatri. She says that when in childhood, they used to fake marry the dolls and if there was a fight she used to bring her dolls back home. But in real life, she can’t go back home if there is a problem. If she returns, her and her father’s respect will get ruined. She says that Seth Govind and Raaj Mata married their children for their benefit. And Gayatri is the Rani of Amirkot only because of this trade which she is cursing. Gayatri says she didn’t want to be a Raani but a wife. Raaj Mata asks doesn’t she want to become now? She says that Gayatri is stealing her looks from the responsibilities of a wife, a daughter in law and of a Raani.
She didn’t do good today by leaving the ritual. If she doesn’t fulfil her responsibilities of a Raani, she will get the rights of a wife as well. She says that love wins itself and only the fighters get successful, not the runners. Gayatri says that success and defeat are only a part of Raajneeti, not love. She doesn’t know if she will live here or will return to her mother’s home, but she will tell Rana ji the truth that she didn’t know about trade thing.Seth Govind was at home lost in whatever had happened in the palace. Maa asked him about the ritual and Gayatri, how she was looking, what she was wearing, if she has adjusted.
She notices Seth Govind upset and asks if Gayatri is fine. Seth ji says that Gayatri is really happy in the palace, she has become a Raani. Seth Govind’s tear fell off his eyes.Gayatri comes to Rana ji’s room. Rana ji tells her to leave, Gayatri says she will leave but he will have to listen to her first. He tries to ignore, she says she won’t let him go without listening to her. Rana ji says that he thought today was enough of drama, she may do whatever she wants to, she may stay or leave, he isnt moved. He shuts the door from inside. Gayatri says that when she heard all his lies, he can’t listen to one of truth. She is going back to her home and will never return. She comes to her room and thinks that she will leave, but being a Gayatri that was married into this palace.
She takes her jewellery off, changes to her old clothes and get up. She thinks why she is crying, she will only take her father’s bangle and her self-respect from the palace. She looks behind at the palace and remembers the promises of respect from Rana ji, then his denial to the relation.Bari Raani Maa bribes the Pandit ji not to tell anyone whatever happened today. She watches Raaj Mata at the doorstep and murmurs that worrying about the respect of the house is the duty of houselady.
Raaj Mata tells Pandit ji to leave, she says to Bari Raani Maa that she ruined her respect in front of an outsider, she must not do it again. Bari Raani Maa says that in front of the whole world, her grandson and her family’s respect was ruined. She had forbidden her not to make a common girl, the Raani of this state but she had to do a trade. Now she has seen the results.Gayatri leaves the house.Bari Raani maa says that getting the respect takes centuries and it is lost in a minute. Today that girl lost all their respect. She, the Bari Raani maa orders that the girl must be thrown out of the palace as soon as possible, as she has proven not to be worth a Raani. Raaj Mata says that she is the owner of the palace and she will take the decisions. Bari Raani maa asks if she wants to change her decision.
Raaj Mata says she only wants to remind that she doesn’t have the right to take this decision. Bari Raani Maa says she will see who changes her decision. Raaj Mata says guests don’t have a permission to take decision, this isnt her house, she is the mother of Kunwar ji and step mother of Big Rana ji. She is her step mother in law, and the decisions of life are not taken by the steps. Bari raani maa stands up angrily, she says that now she got where Gayatri learned misbehaving. Raaj Mata says she is her shadow, Bari Raani Maa.
She reminds her that she is the Raaj Mata of the state, and Bari Raani maa is just the grand mother of Rana ji who tells tales. Raaj Mata must be allowed to make the story, else she must not forget that guests have to leave one day. Bari Raani maa says that she will have to regret what she has said. Raaj Mata leaves.Maa prepares a pickle and tells Bauji to drop it to Gayatri’s house as she loves it. Seth ji sat upset. The door of the house opens and Gayatri enters. Seth ji is shocked to see her, while Maa cheers. She goes and asks Gayatri how she is, hasn’t Rana ji come. He must have left her.
She looks at Gayatri’s clothes and her get up, then watches whatever she had in her hand. She asks if she had an argument with someone, is Rana ji alright. She asks Seth ji what happened. Seth ji was also silent, Gayatri looks at him. Maa asks Gayatri what has happened, Gayatri cries and says nothing is left to tell. Everything has ended. Seth ji cries as well.
