Once there was a King 9 May 2022: The doctor explains Rani that due to sudden trauma, he might have lost his memory. They need to get his tests done, and tells Rani about one way to stay beside Raja. Rani agrees. Rani lay in the bed, when Rani comes to the room in a nurse’s attire. He angrily asks if she came over again. Rani replies she is a nurse here, and it’s her shift. He must bear her till tomorrow, she won’t bother him and will only take care of him. Raja turns his face away. Rani asks him to take medicine, he eats with a bad heart. Raja demands to have lemon drink, she goes to get it soon.
He questions what this is, she reminds him about wanting lemon juice. Raja breaks the glass, saying he asked for orange juice. She returns empty handed, saying its not available. Raja complains about mosquitos. Then sends her to get another fan. Raja asks who made her a nurse, does anyone sleep while taking care of a patient. Raja laughs it was never lost. Rani gets angry about his joke and comes to hit him. Raja warns her about running away from bed, and screams while struggling for it. She moves towards him concerned, Raja laughs again. Rani begins crying, wondering what they had to bear.
Raja sits up worried, that he was testing her love. He makes her up, saying he is proud to have a wife who loves her husband and responsibilities equally. He asks her to stop crying. Rani wipes her tears and goes to tell Ambika. Raja says he already told Ambika, but she wanted to give them a chance to spend their night together. Rani reminds him that he is injured, and this is hospital. He was worried if nothing would happen, she promises a party for his birthday. She gets a cake for him, lights the candle and hands him a knife. The next morning, doctors allow Raja to return home.
In the palace, Rani helps Raja to his bed warning him about his mischief. Raja warns her about any mistake in bandage, he has deep recognition with the city’s MNA. Rani removes his shirt, wiping his body with towel and cleans his injury. Raja holds her close, they kiss each other. Ambika comes in to inform about a Pooja. Rani was ready to help Ambika, but Raja interferes she must only serve her husband right now. Ambika laughs, then asks her to get flowers only. Raja drags her behind, Rani leaves teasingly.Nusrat was buying flowers when Rani hears her voice. Rani comes to Nusrat, who was concerned for Raja. Rani tells Nusrat that Raja is well only because of her.
She tells Nusrat about a Pooja. Nusrat says she has kept a Quran Khwani, they fast the whole day, read Quran and feed the poors. Rani hands her the flowers she bought, and invites her to Pooja. Nusrat denies, Rani demands her to invite her to Quran Khwani. Nusrat says Rani won’t come where she lives, because she lives in hell; Heera Mandi. Rani was shocked to hear this, and recalls Iqbal’s behavior with Nusrat. She wonders how Nawab Iqbal can do so.
In the palace, Rani sat lost in thoughts. Ambika confirms if she got leaf for Pooja then notices Rani worried. Nusrat was praying at home.
In the palace, Raja notices Rani was lost while Pooja. Later, Rani comes to join Nusrat for food. Nusrat says she thought Rani won’t come. Rani remembers she took permission from Raja, he said Nusrat isn’t a call girl but a girl with a good heart who helped her. Rani assures Raja to take two servants with her as well. Nusrat gets weepy, that Rani is really lucky else a few people have such places in their fate. Rani asks Nusrat about Iqbal, but Nusrat avoids the talk coughing. Rani changes the topic, and was sure to take it home as well. She calls Nusrat as Nusrat Aapa, Nusrat was elated and cries.
In the palace, Raja denies having breakfast. Rani warns him to call police otherwise. Raja was curt about her being an MNA, and calls her boring. He wish there is something in the government party to attract him. Rani suggests about hanging her shoes in party, so that he is attracted. Raja compels her to wear some new saree in party at least, Rani was sure his eyes would be stuck on her only.
Rani was confused about dresses. Rani wasn’t ready to wear it, as Raja would definitely call her Chachi then. Meenu asks if Rani really has nothing to wear. Ambika says Raja only teases her, Rani was sure to wear something different. Raja passes by, and suggests her to get plastic surgery; get her nose elongated as carrot and ears like rabbit. Rani was offensive and throws a cushion over him. Ambika laughs over their fight. Rani was worried, and says she wants to wear something she never did. She then gets an idea and shares it with Ambika. Ambika denies, Rani requests her. Ambika then agrees.
Saleem tells Iqbal that it was because of Rani that his dream could be fulfilled. He must not only send flowers, but go to her by himself. Iqbal shows his dislike about over increasing bitterness in Saleem’s tea. Rani comes to ask for Nusrat’s help, and wants her to come along her. Nusrat says she would enter from the back door, and would leave as soon as she is free. She tells Rani that women like hers aren’t invited at respectable families.
Raja looks himself into the mirror, waiting for Rani’s compliment. He comes towards the room, Rani tells him to leave as she is getting ready. Raja wants her to let him in, Rani sends him away. Raja taunts he must find something special to be seen in party. Nusrat was sure Raja won’t lose an eye from over her. Rani thanks Nusrat for doing so much for her, and denies attending the party. She says she doesn’t want to lose Rani at any cost, and must walk the ways decided by society.
Raja asks Meenu what Rani is wearing in party. Meenu wasn’t ready to tell him, then warns him to leave as Rani might hurt him today out of rage. Raja comes to the party, and restlessly asks Ambika about Rani. Ambika says sometimes a joke can cost someone really huge. Thakur comes to the party and goes to meet Raja. Governor also arrive at the party, Raja and Ambika go to welcome him. Raja watches Iqbal enter the party, he forwards his hand but Iqbal gives him salutations instead. Iqbal asks about Rani. They all turn to see Rani come downstairs. Raja smiles, while Iqbal was furious.
Iqbal was shocked to see Rani come downstairs, so was everyone else. Iqbal remembers Nusrat’s dress, her get up and she, happily swirling. Rani goes towards Ambika to take her blessings. Rani goes to greet the governor and takes permission to say something. He compliments her to look really beautiful, and appreciates her work for city. Rani thanks him. Raja teases Rani by holding her dupatta, she goes to a side. The media reporter comes to take her interview.
Rani was determined to stay strong. Raja comes to her, Rani turns her face away in anger. Raja asks why isn’t she even looking at him, Rani reminds he had to find some beauty for himself. Raja says his search always ends at her, and asks how he is looking. Rani replies he looks mediocre, and she never speaks to mediocre people.
Rani tries to make her up and end this fight. Rani goes away. She comes to Iqbal who was aw struck. Raja comes to take Rani, but she leaves. Iqbal also leaves. Raja wonders how to make Rani up now.
Iqbal was at the bar thinking Nusrat must be waiting for him. There, Nusrat was tensed as she forgot her wallet and her room keys are in it. She notices the back door was locked. Nusrat enters the party. Iqbal looks towards his wrist watch thinking Nusrat must be waiting for him. He turns around to hit Nusrat, he thinks the lady was Nusrat then calls it a misunderstanding. He leaves the party.
Nusrat was worried that she has to hurry, as Iqbal must be going towards her room.
Rani comes to taste the food, and instructs the cook to add some sugar. Raja comes in cook’s attire, and tells her to mix sugar in it. Rani drops her spoon, Raja takes her inside. Nusrat comes Rani’s room. Thakur watches her there.
Rani smiles that Raja looked cute as the cook, and now her Mr. Perfect. Raja holds her, Rani warns this isn’t their room. Raja says everyone is busy, why not they; he gets intimate with her. Rani rests her head over his shoulder.
Thakur holds Nusrat’s hand outside the room and shouts thief. Everyone hurries towards them. Nusrat’s veil comes out. Thakur recognizes Nusrat, the call girl. Nusrat cries amongst the people. Governor calls for Gayatri and wonders what is happening. Thakur wonders what was call girl’s need to steal at MNA’s house. He asks if this wallet is Nusrat’s. She nods. Thakur calls her a liar, and asks her to lie that Gayatri invited her here. He insults Nusrat, and asks her to dance in the party.
Nusrat turns to leave, but he holds her hand back. Rani comes to slap Thakur, confirming if he liked the gift? She announces Nusrat is her friend. Thakur wonders if she held a hand over him, just for a call girl. Raja clutches Thakur’s collar, and reminds he can’t bear such false talk for any girl. Thakur tells Raja that his wife’s friend is a call girl, who is sold every night. Nusrat leaves. Raja asks Thakur if he speaks to his wife and mother like this, how he knows she is a call girl.
Thakur was silent. Raja asks if Thakur doesn’t go to sell his soul in the same market, people like him have let her be there. Thakur was silent. Raja tells him to leave with his left over grace, else his face would be completely blackened. Thakur leaves silently.
Governor asks Rani to understand she is not a common girl, Rani insists Nusrat is really good at heart. The governor warns that Nusrat can be harmful for her political career.
Nusrat cries in her room, she looks up and was shocked to see Iqbal. Iqbal clutches her hand and asks where she went, and why is she crying. Nusrat couldn’t speak out of sobbing. Iqbal watches the juice spilt over her dress and asks if it was her. She nods. He asks why she went there. She cries. He clutches her face, asking how she could go there. Nusrat cries he isn’t the only one, who reminds her of her worth. Iqbal asks if someone said something to her. She cries in return. Iqbal clutches a glass of water, and warns about his blood shed.
In the room, Rani was upset that she invited Nusrat for being happy, and wonders how she should be. Raja forbids Rani to go to Nusrat.
Thakur was drunk at home when Iqbal comes to beat him. He warns to take Nusrat’s name again only in apology.
Raja promises to take Rani there. Rani was sad that Nusrat had to bear so much because of them. Raja hugs her.
