Once there was a King 16 May 2022: Rani wakes up screaming Raja’s name, Raja sat beside her on the bed. Rani cries that he even makes her fearful in nightmares. Raja touches her face, while she smiles. He hands her a glass of water.
Rani wipes her tears, then asks him to go on a vacation over the mountains. She suggests places, like Kashmir; he didn’t speak. She tries to hug him but he vanishes. Rani goes hysterically for him. He comes to her again with red bangles, she tries to wear them but he again vanishes. Rani screams again.
He again comes to throw petals over her. Raaj Mata forcefully brings Rani downstairs near Raja’s photo. Rani was in shock, Raaj Mata says police found Raja’s blood stained shirt in the forest and believe some wild animal… Rani cries near his photo.
Iqbal burns Raja’s photo, he laughs hysterically blackening Raja’s face and shouts Zaira. He speaks to Zaira’s photo that he has revenged her death. Rani stood on the door, wondering if Nawab Iqbal Khan ever cries. Rani tells Iqbal she came to learn from him how to live when she has lost her love. They are alike today, he snatched her Raja and she came to punish him for this. She points a gun at his forehead, he must pay for what he did.
Iqbal shouts at her to fire. Rani insists her Raja was innocent just like Zaira. Iqbal pushes the gun at his forehead, forcing Rani to fire the bullet; then grabs Rani’s neck and pointing the gun at her. He warns her to shout, else people would say her husband just died and she ran into his arms. He tells her to go to palace and mourn Raja’s death. Rani leaves.
In the palace, Meenu comes to Raaj Mata worried that Rani is nowhere in the palace. Raaj Mata leaves her near Ambika and goes to look for Rani. Rani walked towards the palace, crying as she miss Raja. She walks towards a water body where Raja was calling her for a hug and she runs towards him.
There, Raja lay unconscious in the forest. He wakes up, murmuring Rani’s name while a few villagers were standing beside him and call it a miracle.
Raja wakes up in the bed and was shocked to see Bindu. He tries to get up, Bindu insists on him to lay down as he doesn’t even realize how she found him. She tells Raja about the condition he was in when they found him four months ago. There was no chance of his survival. Bindu came there and asked the villagers to help her. Bindu brought him to their summer palace, doctors have been struggling since then and now he is fine. Raja thanks her for whatever she did for him.
But he know well, Rani’s love brought him out of mouth of death. He wonders what Rani must be going through in all these months, he asks Bindu about Rani. Bindu was speechless and tries to convince him to discuss about it later. Raja was thankful to Bindu, but warns if she is trying to part him from Rani she won’t be successful; he again asks her about Rani. He says her silence indicates she didn’t change at all.
There, Iqbal was mixing some scents.
The inspector brings Raja’s file, saying there is no chance Raja is alive. Iqbal insists that a killer of 40 people should have bear this. The inspector tells Iqbal that Raja’s murder’s case won’t be closed for next five years. Iqbal says it was nature’s punishment for him.
Raja goes out of the bed, while Bindu tries to calm him. The doctor comes in to give Raja sedative. Bindu thinks she is sorry but she can’t let him go to Amirkot, his life is endangered there and if he gets to know what happened there…
Molana brings a cloth piece carved with gold and silver to congratulate Iqbal for the day. Iqbal kisses over his hands. Molana greets him for beginning a new life.
Bindu comes to the room and asks Raja where he is going. A servant brings the gifts he asked for. Raja watches the rose bouquet, wishing Rani would be happy watching these. Bindu insists on him to take rest. Raja says after opening the calender, he realized its Rani’s birthday today; that’s why be brought flowers for her. He is fine and ready to leave now.
Bindu shouts at Raja this time, saying no one is waiting for him. Rani has died already. Raja says he hoped her hatred for Rani has lessed over time. Bindu insists that Rani is no more, nothing is left in Amirkot. Raja was in disbelief, and says if he is breathing so must Rani be. Bindu requests Raja not to leave to Amirkot, as she already took a huge danger over herself by keeping him here.
Raja jumps into the guard. A guard asks why he is entering. One of the security guard comes to let him go inside, as poor have gathered for alms. Raja comes to stand in a queue, where Raaj Mata brings dresses to distribute among the poor on Rani’s birthday. A police inspector comes to tell Raaj Mata that there was no chance for Raja to survive in the forest. Raja runs away into the forest crying. He screams why Rani left him alone. He envisions Rani and himself playing in the same forest.
Rani had said that she wanted to see how much he loves her. Raja had carved their name over the tree trunk; and named the tree as Rani Tree. Rani corrected its Raja Rani Tree. Raja teased her later, and chased her. He now came to cry hugging the same trunk.
There Iqbal announces laying the foundation of an orphanage. For the world it’s only an orphanage, but for his fiancé it is her dreams. A group of ladies arrive, Raja was shocked to see Rani walking towards them. She walks towards Iqbal who holds her hand, and says the foundation of their love had been laid a long time ago. People cheered them, as Iqbal and Rani places the first brick.
The engineer points at a problem, the tree was there in the midst of the building; should they cut it. Iqbal looks towards Rani, Rani says this tree lives for thousand years, its roots would weaken the building. Two of the men go with the axe, while Raja runs towards the tree. He takes the cutter off their hands, but fell off himself. Rani hurries towards him, wondering if he is fine. Iqbal prevents her from straightening him and the men help Raja. His face had been covered with mud. Rani calls for water. Iqbal was about to splash the water over his face, but a lady runs in between.
It was Bindu under the veil, and takes Raja along as her husband. Rani stops the lady, recognizing her voice. Bindu says her voice is really common and takes Raja along. Rani looks behind them.
In the palace, Iqbal and Rani come to greet Raaj Mata. Iqbal explains he wants to take Raaj Mata’s permission to gift her something. Rani takes the box. Iqbal asks if she liked it, Rani replies a lot.
There, Raja cries wondering how Rani’s love died only in four months. Bindu comes to stop him from harming himself. Raja cries that Rani said their lives and fates were even united, she broke everything by committing herself to someone else. Raja was in disbelief, it seemed to be a dream but it was a reality; he must have better died as Rani’s betrayal would never let him live.
Rano appreciate the diamond he found for her. Iqbal says he also think about the diamond he found, it’s nothing in front of her beauty. Raaj Mata asks about girl’s school. Iqbal says he is really stubborn and will get the work done, Raaj Mata says she know about it.
Bindu says she is also shocked, but has no reply to any of his questions. She only know that Rani has started a new life, he must also forget her. Raja was determined to revenge Rani.
Raja asks Bindu about Ambika. Bindu promises to take him to her.
Rano comes downstairs, dressed in Iqbal’s gifted clothes and jewelry. Iqbal compliments her. Rani replies with a poetry about love. Raaj Mata prays they never get a bad eye. Iqbal says today is Rani’s birthday, he wants to take Rani for a dinner away from crowd. Raaj Mata allows him. She observes Iqbal holding Rani’s hand.
Bindu brings Raja to an asylum where Ambika had been chained, crying for Raja. Raja runs to her, but she doesn’t recognize him and only cried. Bindu hears footsteps and takes Raja outside the asylum forcefully.
On the venue, Rani asks if there is someone else as well. Iqbal replies there is love and peace. A waiter recognizes her, Rani says she came here earlier as well. Iqbal calls for menu, but the manager serves what she always take. Rani turns the table, saying they need to erase the memories of those who have gone.
Raja questions Bindu why she didn’t let him bring his mother along. Bindu says they don’t need to show that he is alive, had they brought Ambika police would look for her and reach him. Then, Ambika would really lose her son. She informs Raja that Rani considers him a murderer like Kaal. Iqbal was behind what happened to Raja. Raja wonders if love and friendship were both a fake, Bindu tells him that Iqbal was never his friend. They were revenging him, as Iqbal considers Raja as a culprit for his fiancé, Zaira’s death. Raja denies any of such accusation, he wonders if Rani hates him for this story. Bindu says Rani joined hands with Iqbal, for Rani he is the son of her parent’s murderer. Raja denies this, Bindu asks why Rani and Raaj Mata is on Iqbal’s side then.
In the palace, Iqbal says he could see love for himself even in her anger. He holds her hand to kiss the back of it. Raaj Mata stares towards him, while Rani stands emotionless. She cries as Iqbal leaves. She cries calling Raja.
Raja wasn’t ready to forgive Rani for what she and Raaj Mata did to his mother. She and Raaj Mata planned against him to revenge him. Rani cries, saying her love’s murderer kissed the back of her hand.
She asks why she saved him, had she died that day she wouldn’t have to see her love die each day. They remember, when Rani ran towards the cliff Raaj Mata came to save her. Rani insists on her to go towards Raja, but Raaj Mata aggressively brought her back to palace. She slapped her hard to bring her to conscious. She had urged Rani to revenge for her Raja from Iqbal Khan, as a determined lady can do anything. She wonders what face she would show to Raja that Rani couldn’t even revenge for his murder. Rani wiped her tears and showed her determination to snatch everything from Nawab Iqbal Khan.
Rani was crying, Raaj Mata assures Rani that it is all for her Raja. Rani cried that she has to suffer a lot only for this revenge. No one ever told her that testimony of love is so tough. Raaj Mata urges Rani to take revenge for Ambika’s condition as well. Rani recalls, Ambika attacked everyone in the palace with knives or either hurt herself. Rani calls herself unlucky, as they can’t even take care of her in such a condition.
There, Raja burnt Rani’s photo determined to revenge Rani for whatever she did to him and his mother. She must pay for everything she did to them.
In the palace, Raaj assures Rani to take care of Ambika. Ambika lost her son, if she was conscious she would have wanted Rani to revenge for her son’s death. She should begin the preparations of her last card, in this game of revenge.Rani says after becoming Nawab Iqbal Khan’s wife, she would burn each of his happiness.
Raja shows photos of Iqbal and Rani, then asks two men to bring each other their details about last four months. He needs details of even their breathes. He throws money at them, and strictly sends them for work. Bindu wonders what Raja would get with all this. Raja says there is always some weakness in a chain, he is looking for that weak point to break the chain. He won’t only spoil their lives, but burn them. He burns the newspaper with their photos.
