Prabha is furious that whatever plan she makes, it thoroughly fails, and that she had wanted them to separate, so that a drama is created, that humiliates ganga in front of everyone, whereas she merely ended up bringing them close together, and ganga wins every single time.
Just then, rudra comes from behind, and is surprised to see prabha agitated. she merely makes an excuse hurriedly, and turns around to face him. he asks whats the matter and if she can have some juice. she says that she cant take it being a widow. he eyes her tensedly as she leaves. he eyes the broken glass pieces and is boggled.
In the room, sagar and ganga enjoy their new found romantic intimacy, both unabashed and their guards down due to being inebriated under the influence
of alcohol. he says that he always wants ganga like this with him, in his arms, away from all the troubles of the world. she too hugs him tightly.
It starts raining outside. she comments that she needs to go and see if she forgot something. he says that he doesnt wish to remember anything, just him and her, and if anyone else, its merely love, their love. she shys at his expression of love.
he pins her against the wall, and caresses her shoulders, and her face, while she shivers with his touch, as he cups her face, to bring in close to his, as it starts raining heavily outside. she tries to leave, but her dupatta gets stuck, and she gets nervous and excited at the same time. she turns around to find him holding it. they both eye each romantically as they come closer. he pulls her in close to himself, and she lands right in his arms as he grabs her.
they are aware of their increasing physical proximity. he turns her around, and then caressing her hair, he pulls them away, dancing with her. he pulls her hair strands away as she eyes him smilingly. he lowers in to seal their love with a kiss on her lips. then he pulls her in his arms and takes her towards the room, while she shyly looks down. he then pulls her down on the bed, as she sits in nervousness, while he seductively eyes her, as she looks away in shyness. he caresses her face, while she sensitises at the touch, as he comments that she looks beautiful. she gets up, but he holds her back with her saree, and then wrneches it, and pulls her close to himself, while she breathes heavily.
he holds her hand while she clenches her fists tightly at his touch. he keeps trying to be intimate with her, while even in her drunken state, she refrains back, due to her unmarital status yet. he says that they are married long back, and arent doing anything wrong. he shushes her before she starts to speak up again. finally, he decides to put an end to this. she is boggled. He staggers towards the fruits kept on the table, and hurts his own hand with the knife, and then smears her forehead with his blood, as the vermillion, thats makes her his. she is emotionally overwhelmed. he says that it was necessary to make her believe, that she is forever his now, her sagar’s.
she eyes him apalled, and hands his wound, and is unable to believe that they are husband and wife now. she clutches at him and he hugs her back, as tears stream down their cheeks. he then leads her to the bed, and makes her sit down. then he sways away, and switches off the lights. he then progresses towards her on the bed, and sits beside her, while she iws full of nervous anticpation of whats to come. he caaresses her hair away, and nuzzles against the nape of her neck, sensitising every nerve in her body, as a shiver runs down her spine. he lays her down on the bed, and gets atop her, as they both bask in the glory of their new found love. the night is a reminiscient of their consummation of love.
The next morning, ganga finds herslf sleeping over sagar, blissfully asleep, when she wakes up. she smiles in shyless, as she eyes him, and then kisses him on the forehead, while he is fast asleep. she tries to get up, but her dupatta gets stuck in the band of his watch. she stealthily manages to take it out, and then pulls away the drapes, while eyeing him, a smile constantly plastered on her face. she comes out, in a stance, unable to believe her new marital status, reminisceing her experience of the night, as she stands in front of the mirror. she eyes the vermillion, and then dons some on her own forehead, thinking that today onwards she is a complete woman.
Later, supriya comes and tries to wake sagar up, but he is in deep sleep. she is amused. finally when he wakes up, he eyes the finger and asks when did he get hurt like this. he has a bad hangover, and doesnt remember what happened. she teases him that he has forgotten everything in love. she asks what were they doing late night yesterday. he asks her to stop teasing, and asks for a solution for the headache. she asks him to freshen up.
Downstairs, all sit for the puja, as sagar and ganga sit together. prabha is tensed. all others happily comply. ganga is over sweet, and emotional towards sagar, due to their new found status, while he having forgotten everything, reacts normal. Later, on the roof, as ganga is drying clothes, she eyes the saree, in which she consummated her love with him, and is lost in thoughts of the romantic night, whn he comes, completely oblivious and nudges her out of her stance. she blushes and continues to giggle.
Later, Ammaji asks the priest to find a lucky muhurat for them to get married, as ganga and sagar excitedly sit. he says that 32 out of 36 compatibility tests they pass already. they are happy. all are very happy as he talks about a date, 30 days from now, which is perfect. ganga and sagar are thoroughly amused. ammaji sets the date as that itself. the screen freezes on ganga and sagar’s happy face
All congratulate each other, and madhvi rushes to get sweets. they all feed each other. supriya teases ganga that she shall have to wait another month. all are excited. Madhvi suggests that many preparations need to be done, and ammaji asks her to start rightaway, as its a lavish affair. she rushes to call his father. then ammaji congratulates sagar and ganga too, who seek her blessings. all are happy, while prabha sits tensedly.
AFTER A MONTH
Sagar’s family receives the guests who have started arriving for the wedding fiesta. all members are busy with preparations and arrangements, while prabha watcehs this with angst and rage. Pulkit starts arranging for the wedding. He arranges for the furniture, chairs and fans etc.
Prabha says that they should get table fans too, instead of only ceiling ones. he asks her not to worry, as its all taken care of. after he leaves, prabha thinks that he has no clue that the fan brought on rent shall cause such havoc in the family.
Meanwhile, she eyes supriya serving lassi drinks to the guests to take off the heat, and suddenly gets an idea. she comes to her, and asks whats she doing, as in good and pious work, white is unlucky, just like the widow status of ganga and if ganga sees, she wouldnt feel nice, as she would be remembered of her widow status earlier. they all start thinking on it, and people start gossiping about widow remarriage.
ammaji and the family members are tensed that prabha unnecessarily brought it up. ammaji finally speaks up saying that she shall tell why she chose ganga for her sagar. she confronts them all, and then eyes prabhja curtly. she says that she changed her thinking, with changing times, and they should too. she says that its true widow remarriage hasnt happened, but only because the society doesnt want it, and they all reiterate ganga is a widow, but no one talks about her grandson being widow.
she also reprimands prabha to say that white doesnt mean ominous, but it also represents sacrifice and the patience, that a widow has, and that she can change the tide of times. prabha and the guests are silenced too. she then takes a lassi glass and finishes it, gulping it down, while all watch shocked. she then calls maharaj and supriya to serve lassi to everyone. the guests reprimand her for insulting the rites and rituals. madhvi tries to intervene, but is stopped by her husband, to let ammaji speak up.
Ammaji says that she didnt sacrifice anything, but her orthodox beliefs, which she shed. her son comes and tells her that its good that she has now realised. ammaji then turns to the guests and asks whether they shall bless her son and bride or not.
Meanwhile, Ganga is dressing in her room, when she gets an insistent knock on the door, and a girl’s voice, asking her to hurriedly come down, and open up the door. ganga asks her to wait but the girl outside gets impatient. she continues to knock and holler for the door to be opened.
As ganga opens the door, sagar, draped in dupatta hurriedly gets in, and then eyes her teasingly, while she shyly says that they have been asked not to be alone. she asks him to go, as if anyone sees, they shall be scolded, but he unabashed continues to progress towards her, while she retreats reflexively, as he has no concerns of being seen or caught. he grabs her, and then pins her against the wall, while she is shy and nervous.
supriya comes in and they both compose themselves. she is amused, and asks what happened. sagar asks ganga not to say anything. but ganga blurts that she asked him to stop but he didnt. he vehemently protests, but supriya turns his ears, and wrenches them, asking him not to try and be oversmart. he asks her to believe him, and not ganga. surpriya says that she shall take him to ammaji, and he starts apologiisng profusely. supriya says that she has a condition. he asks what. she asks ganga to tell what to do, as this is a golden oppurtunity. supriya tells sagar that he shall have to be ganga’s slave always and listen to everything she says. he eyes her romantically, and then kneels in front of her, and accepts it, while ganga is overwhelmed. supriya is amused.
he says that he shall be her slave for eternity, and do and say whatever she asks him to, and shall forever be hers. Supriya blesses them both. Just then, prabha comes that way, and finds them like this. he gets up instanrtly. she asks them what are they doing here as they are being called down. they hurriedly rush down.
Downstairs, all are busy in dance and merriment, enrolled in the spirit of festivity, prabha manages to arrange for a long wire from the electrician. MAdhvi comes to her and asks prabha to arrange for two buckets of water, since as per the ritual, ganga and sagar shall have to bathe aftre the haldi ceremony, after the mother sprinkles water on them prabha complies. she eyes ganga being brought down, and they all join the festivities. prabha thinks that even destiny sides with her, and handed her the perfect means, to ensure ganga and sagar’s death. Then the haldi ceremony starts, as ganga and sagar are made to sit together. ammaji starts with the ritual and then others follow. they all bless the happy couple.
Prabha too comes and completes the rituals. madhvi reminds her of the waters. she goes there and sends maharaj away to attend to the kitchen. While noone is watching, prabha stealthily throws a live wire in the water area. Rudra and ragini too perform the ritual, while prabha thinks that they can be happy all they want, but this shall be their last bath as the minute, sagar puts his hand in the water, he shall be electrocuted, and that shall mark the end of sagar and ganga’s love story.
Location: Sagar’s residence
After the haldi ceremony is done, they are asked to wash it down, with a pious bath. ammaji instructs the bride’s mother to wash the groom’s face and vice versa. seeing that there is noone from the bride’s side, ammaji asks vasudha to do the honours as her mother. she is more than happy to comply. they happily comply. ganga and sagar with the rest of the family, progress towards the water area. Madhvi asks for sagar’s help. to arrange for water, she asks sagar to get the mug of water. oblivious to the live circuit, he progresses towards the water area. Sagar is about to put his hand inside the water pool. Rudra is tensed and is about to sense something. Ragini points out dancing lights to rudra, which are actually electricity sparks.
Meanwhile, before sagar can pick it up, the lights go off, and prabha is disappointed that the lights went off at a crucial time. Prabha is disgusted. rudra comes up just then, and tells that they dont need to investigate as he switcehd off the main fuse, and then shows them the live wire, that could have electrocuted sagar. all are shocked and aghast. Madhvi is concerned for sagar. she reprimands maharaj for the same.
Prabha is very scared that her truth might be out, but is thankfully relived when it isnt. sagar’s father thank rudra for having saved sagar and then asks them to get back to the rituals. madhvi too is highly thankful. ammaji blesses him too. ganga and sagar eye each other tensedly.
Later in the night, prabha again points to the rest of the relatives, that the danger has been averted, but she keeps thinking, that this might be due to ganga, wo is a nice girl, but with ominously bad luck, as she lost her husband, and now these omens. the ladies say that they too thought about it, but didnt say anything to ammaji, as her sanity has gone out the window. ganga hears this from a distance and is tensed and distressed.
prabha finds her there, and pretends not to see and says that due to the lord and rudra’s help, sagar was saved, and god knows if destiny should be toyed with like this. they gossip that it isnt needed that a widow be remarried. ganga however is set to thinking for sagar’s safety. prabha leaves seeing that her mission is accomplished. she pretends to see ganga, and asks when she came. she says that she just did. prabha asks ganga to get some milk for the guests. she resignedly leaves. PRabha thinks that she shall keep trying and wont accept defeat till her work is done.
Later, in her room, ganga is tensed remembering prabha and the others’ words. sagar comes and stands by her side, while she is in tears. he asks her whats the matter, finding her tensed, and asks her whats it. she says that she cant see him in pain and trouble. he asks if she is botherede about earlier, and reminds that her vermillion has always saved him, and now their destinies are intertwined and they shall protect each other, as their dreams shall materialise. she however is scared of that itself. he shushes her down, and takes her, while she is boggled, where is he taking her.
he holds her hands, and takes her to the house that they had made together, when they were kids, and had a fight as to who shall cook food. they reminiesce about that childhood memory, and get emotional as they eye every detail of it, saying that its exactly as they had left it. he asks if she realises what this meas, and says that this is a witness to their love, and that no troubles can affect their love which cant weaken ever, and not just that, their fights shall be immortal too. she smiles and cheers up.
he points that there is a beautiful dream in this house, and thats to stay together always, and that shall be fulfilled tomorrow. he says that she wants, when they start afresh tomorrow, it shouldnt be with tears. he then leaves, and comes back with water bottle, which is empty, and asks her to voice out all of her concerns and troubles, inside the bottle. she is boggled and complies, when he insists.
he closes the bottle, and then throws it away, saying that her pains and sadness is gone and they shall never come back. she hugs him overwhelmingly, and he says that tomorrow, she should start it afresh, with all happiness and cheer, forgetting the past. he makes her extends her hands, and invites all happiness right into their lives.
Meanwhile, Prabha talks to someone, on the phone, saying that she shall come to collect the material tomorrow and asks if the person shall be killed sure shot. on confirmation, she says that she shall come tomorrow, at 2:30 P.M.
Location: Widow Ashram
Vasudha is reminiscient of how childishly innocent ganga was when she was becoming a child bride. she is emotionally overwhelmed, as she sees the older ganga dressed as a bride, in the ashram. she asks ganga if she is sad that she brought her here to dress up. ganga denies, saying that this is her maayka. vasudha blesses her to be happy always and that no troubles ever loom over them. they both hug each other.
Location: Sagar’s residence
Sagar has a hard time warding off ladies, who try to put a black teeka on him, as a part of ritual. they are insistent, while he is vehemently against it. ammaji comes to his rescue and takes him away, saying that she shall help him get ready. he is relieved. madhvi asks supriya to find the chance to do it sometime. she complies. while going out, Madhvi almost collides into prabha who gives the excuse that she had gone to collect paan leaves, for the next ritual. madhvi smiles. prabha’s hand slips and a packet falls on the ground. madhvi eyes it boggled, and asks whats it. madhvi asks whats this. she says that its paan masala, and says that she shall keep it in the kitchen. Madhvi complies and leaves. prabha rushes to the kitchen.
In the kitchen, she fumes that her son is rotting in jail, and they are celebrating, and if they arent happy, then she wouldnt allow sagar and his family to be happy too. she thinks about the love stories that have gone unfinished. Prabha mutters that sagar and ganga shall never unite, and that their love shall be immortal. she prepares paan, and then sprays poison into sagar and ganga’s paan, ensuring their death.
MEanwhile, Ganga happily gets ready and eyes her jewellery, remembering her excitement when she was a bride in childhood. One widow comes and gives ganga the Poison laced paan, saying that its from her groom. after they leave, she remembers sagar buying her paan in childhood, while she eyes it, and then they both eating it, while she has trouble eating it together. they both eye each other’s funny faces. Meanwhile, supriya too gives the paan to sagar, saying that its from ganga, who himself is lost in the same memory. they both eye it overwhelmingly. Prabha watches from a distance, in anticipation, as to the moment when sagar takes it.
