After 22 YearsAged Dua offers prayers and says 22 years have passed but the pain is still there, my heart still belongs to one person, I have lived a lonely life and yesterday was the day when my love left me 22 years ago, the person who owned my heart, my happiness and my reason for life, my husband Haider. She says I am alive today because of our proof of love, our daughter Mannat. She says the date makes me happy and sad as I got Mannat that day but lost my Haider.
Just please protect Mannat, I am scared of her free spirit nature.A young Mannat is introduced, she starts her sports car and drives fast. She tells her sister Ibadat to hold her dupatta, you care about it still when nobody does anymore.Hamida comes to Dua and says you prayed for Mannat only, why not your other daughter? You are a mother and shouldn’t differentiate between your daughters. You should pray for your other daughter too. Dua says sure, she says Haider’s daughter should get all the happiness.
Hamida is sad to hear that. She says Ibadat craves your love, she just wants you to accept her as your daughter. She deserves your love too.Mannat tells Ibadat to get out of the car and stop embroidering, I know you are Dua’s daughter but you don’t need to flaunt it all the time. We are getting late, Ibadat says I am embroidering this for Dua as a gift. Mannat says its our birthday tomorrow and you are making a gift for her? Ibadat says I just want to make her happy.Hamida tells Dua that soon people will realize that Ibadat isn’t accepted in this house as a daughter fully. Dua says it’s not like that, she is Haider’s daughter.
Hina comes there and says she has Gazal’s blood in her too. Dua says please don’t take that evil woman’s name, for everyone Ibadat and Mannat are both my daughters. They are both Haider and my daughters, this is the truth for everyone. Hamida asks Dua who is Ibadat for her? I know you gave everything to Ibadat, a good life, and education but give her mother’s love that she has been craving. Its her birthday so please hug her as a daughter. Hina says Dua lost her husband and I lost my son because of that Gazal so why are we still keeping her daughter in the house? we should have thrown her in some orphanage.
Dua says she is Haider’s daughter too and has a right to stay here. Gulnaz comes there and says I am still waiting for my breakfast, where is everyone? Hina says you cut your hair short but you still scream like always. Gulnaz bickers with them and calls their servant Razia but she is not there.Razia comes to the court and meets with Mannat and Ibadat. Mannat says I knew Razia would come. Razia says I am scared to bring family matters to the court, I will be shamed by people. Ibadat says don’t worry, you should fight for your rights. Mannat says don’t be scared, we are with you.
They all go to the court together. The reporters arrive there, Mannat tells Ibadat that I called them here for publicity. Ibadat says this is good, we should make others listen to us as we are fighting for justice. Mannat hugs her.Gulnaz is looking around for Razia and asks Nigar about her. Nigar (Ruhaan’s daughter) says I can’t find her anywhere, Hina says I will throw her out of the job today. Nigar says Mannat and Ibadat should be scolded too then, they took Razia with them and the police will arrive here soon. Hamida asks why? Nigar says I am sure Mannat must have hit someone with the car. Three of them are missing since morning.
Hamida tells her to stop spreading rumours. She tells Gulnaz that her granddaughter is just like her. Armaan comes there and greets them. Dua asks what is all this stuff you brought? Armaan says we are going to gift poor people tomorrow for Haider’s death anniversary and Mannat’s birthday. Dua says you take care of everyone. Hamida says except for Ibadat, he remembers tomorrow is Mannat’s birthday but what about Ibadat’s birthday? Gulnaz says don’t worry about it. Armaan gets a call and says really? He asks Dua to check the news.
The reporters ask Mannat and Ibadat why they want restrictions on multiple marriages because they are Muslims and its allowed in their religion? Mannat says don’t take it as a religious point, people take advantage of some religious laws so they should be banned.Hina and others watch them on the news. Hina says they have gone crazy, what’s wrong with them? Dua says they are fighting for women’s rights, they should be praised. Hina says you don’t understand. People will go against them. The reporter asks them if they are worried that people might go against them? Ibadat says no.. our mother tells us that we should fight the world if its for justice.
Our community is educated and won’t be against us, if someone is against us then they are illiterate. We are going to keep fighting against this law which makes women weaker. Dua is surprised to hear all that. Hina says this Ibadat is so shameless, our Mannat is innocent but Ibadat must have trapped her, she would have never done this herself. Dua says you are wrong. Women should get rights in this world and if Mannat-Ibadat are raising their voice then they aren’t wrong. Don’t forget that we fight for injustice about topics that have burned us in the past. She recalls Haider’s second marriage with Gazal.
Armaan says what do you mean? Nigar asks if someone had two marriages in their family? Hamida says there was two marriages in this house. This Gulnaz is Rahat’s 2nd wife. Hina tells them to stop this, she tells Dua that Ibadat and Mannat have gone against our community, I am sure Mannat is innocent but this Ibadat is evil, she should get married and get lost. Dua says don’t say all that. Mannat is going to study and then own Haider’s business. Hamida says what about Ibadat? she is going to takeover designing work in the company right? Dua thinks she has to handle them and keep Mannat away from Ibadat.
She recalls Kaynaat’s curse years ago.Hina video calls Kaynaat and says I miss you so much, you went to London 22 years ago and never came back, don’t you miss us? Kaynaat says I do but I also remember the insult, how can I come back to the house where Dua lives? I blame Dua for Haider’s death, I lost my brother because of her stubbornness, I will never forgive her. Hina says we should forget what happened and move on. You remember the priest’s prediction? its time to make it happen. We should get Subhan and Mannat married. Kaynaat says the priest said Subhan would marry Haider’s daughter but that evil Ibadat is his daughter too.
Hina says don’t worry about her, I will keep her away from Subhan and Mannat. Just talk to Subhan and if he agrees then we will get them married. Ibadat comes to her and says we are in a courtroom, stop watching him. If the judge sees you then we will be fined, you should stop drooling over that SS. Mannat says I am crazy for his voice, I wish I could go to London to see him live.The case starts, Ibadat prays for their success and tells Mannat that they are fighting for innocent women’s voices. Ibadat tells the judge that their case is pertaining to many women in their country,Subhan ends his concert and sees calls from Hafeez, he is about to take off his mask but some fans arrive there and the girls invite him for a party but he denies them.
His brother arrives there and says I am ready to take you girls anywhere, he asks Subhan to join them and enjoy with the girls. Subhan scolds him and says the party is over, he takes his brother away.The judge asks Ibadat why she wants to challenge the law that’s allowed in Islam? the opposition lawyer makes fun of them and says these kids are young and don’t know our religion much, Ibadat says I am sad to say that this lawyer is putting us down just because we are young, he didn’t even allow my sister to talk. She says I am a resident of this country and have all the rights, I have to raise my voice against injustice.
The law has a loophole and men are allowed to marry 4 times but women can’t. Women should be allowed to do multiple marriages otherwise men should be stopped and shouldn’t cheat on their wives by marrying many times. Multiple marriages should be banned. The priest says this is wrong. Mannat says my sister is right, the priest says the court can’t change our religious laws. Mannat says we have a right to talk. The lawyer says our religion allows men to marry multiple times to protect women. Mannat says women don’t need men to protect them now. Ibadat says times have changed, women don’t need men to protect them now.
The priest says our Prophet made this rule in favour of women only, they are going against our Prophet. Ibadat says we are not, the rule was made in war times when men used to die in wars and other men were allowed to marry widowed women as a 2nd or 3rd marriage but there are no wars now so men are marrying multiple times to quench their thirst and not to help helpless women, we have to change laws with time. The priest says we never change religions, you girls are young and dumb, how can you say that men are misusing this law? Mannat says we have proof.
She calls Razia to the witness box. Mannat tells the judge that she works at our house and has 3 kids but her husband is lazy and a cheap man, he uses religion to cheat on his wife, he married another woman because the law allows him but he should have been faithful to his wife first. Ibadat tells the priest that Islam says if the man can’t do justice with his first wife then he has no right to marry again. Man have to do justice with both his wives but Razia’s husband loves his second wife and doesn’t give any right to Razia, he beats her up and even takes her money. She asks Razia to show her wounds that her husband gave her. Razia is reluctant to show it.
