Our perfect place 17 April 2020: Before ila can spill the truth niranjan chips in and tells rita that she was talking about parimal and how since they are always fighting each other off, hence he should steer clear from him to avoid unnecessary trouble. rita starts smiling and assures that nothing like that would happen, and how they all shall live as one happy family.
he leaves inside with rita, while ila stands tensedly. she eyes their family picture, and talks to govardhan as to what dilemma she is in, on what to do, side with her son, or be just to her daughter in life. she is highly worried and boggled whether she shall be able to take the right decision.
The next morning, as sameer is ready for jogging, he hears the alarm incessantly going on in rahul’s room, and wakes him up, and makes him realise the same. while rahul is reluctant and expresses drowsiness, sameer insistently makes him get up, and they both start jogging together. while talking, sameer talks about how he still feels guilty about killing his child, and hasnt moved past that.
Rahul asks him not to blame himself, as he did the right thing at that time. sameer agrees but then points out that its high time he too lets go of that and forgives his own father, govardhan for the same. this leaves rahul speechless.
MEanwhile, nirajan is sleeping and snoring, while rita tries to come and wake him up for jogging. he is too drowsy to comply, but then when she hears that sameer too is downstairs to jog, he gets up with an alert so that she doesnt go out alone, and sameer makes another such comment to instigate her yet again. they both go down and join rahul and sameer.
while rahul and sameer try and mock niranjan for his poor shape and lacklustre workout, rita is amused. seeing them happily banter, ila is happy, that this morning brings a new ray of hope for her, and hopefully their vision of a joint family shall materialise. she goes inside the room, and remembers how vehemently niranjan had falsified maya’s claims. she decides to talk to her.
Maaya gets a call from ila, and she says that the person she had a talk with clearly said niranjan’s name, then where is the misunderstanding. she asks about the jewellers. maya tells her the name and gives the number. ila decides to talk to the jeweller herself to find out. but when she dials the given number, she finds that its saved in her cell as gayatri. she is shocked. she decides to talk to her and find out, as she is boggled wondering why gayatri talked to maya, and that too under a false alias. she goes to her, while gayatri is herself tensed.
Before she can ask, parimal steps in, and she goes quiet. parimal observes that gayatri is avoiding ila. ila asks her for food, and she says that she isnt hungry, and also asks ila not to wait up as she wont eat right now. ila walks out, after gayatri hastily leaves on the pretext of calling uday. after ila is gone, he goes to gayatri and asks why is she behaving like this with ila, and how her doubt shall one day land her in trouble. they again argue about the same and it ends in a scuffle.
Back in her room, ila is tensed as she didnt get the chance to clarify from gayatri, since parimal came and she couldnt bring up that topic. she turns to govardhan’s pic, and asks him how does he expect her to maintain peace and togetherness in the family when such issues keep arising from time to time. but she is still hopeful and relieved that atleast niranjan didnt do any wrong this time around.
Scene 2:
Location: Maaya’s office
Niranjan comes and talks at the reception, asking for maaya to be called down. he is asked to wait in the waiting lobby and he complies. then the receptionist gets maaya down, and shows her the way to the lobby. she gets inside and is shocked to find niranjan there. she asks how can he be so disgusting. he lashes at her for misdirecting his mother, remembering the slap she rendered to him. to clear the misunderstanding, she gives him the jeweller’s number.
she is about to go, when her foot slips, and he holds into catch her. in this, the specs fall off her eyes, and he notices a black patch around the eye. she is flustered, while he is shocked to see it, and is affected too. he caringly asks what happened. she storms out, saying that its noone of his business. then he dials the number, and finds that its gayatri’s. he is boggled and shocked too.
Rahul remembers the humiliation he faced at the office, and is horribly distressed, when ila comes and starts talking about the recent days in the house. she points out how she is upset not because govardhan left for the ashram because of him and his drunken brawling, but because he went being completely broken and distraught. he begs profusely for an apology, and she asks if he would be able to forgive them too for their mistake, and move on in life, forgetting the past.
He stays silent. she says that he expects tp be forgiven but doesnt have the heart to forgive them. he gets tensed. she is apalled, and seeks answers. she asks him why he only blames govardhan always for that one mistake. she says that she was equally contributive and stood by him for his decision. he says that he doesnt have any complaints from her, but he cant forgive his father. she says that they did it for his benefit as she wasnt the right girl, and it was proven when,,,,but he cuts her short saying that he wont bear to hear a word against her. she is stunned into silence. she says that she got her answer, as its been 5 years.
In the kitchen, ila asks gayatri why she called maya. the phone rings and niranjan walks in, asking if she knows what gayatri did. then he finds her behind too. As gayatri and ila are together, niranjan comes stomping in, and accuses gayatri of sneaking up behind his back, and doing what she did. he narrates out the entire jeweller’s incident. ila asks her to be quiet, as she is talking., but he insistently asks her why she did so. gayatri gets flustered but then gets enraged, and starts an arguement with him, while ila hears shocked and tensed.
she then finally lashes at him saying that the reason or the motive behind her doing this, her doubts have been confirmed today, by the hurry with which he went to maaya to speak to her, meaning he is still in touch with her, and they all are betraying rita. all stand tensedly. gayatri stomps inside. he hurriedly goes in without listening to ila who tries to stop her. he asks gayatri why is she trying to trap him, and if she hates him so much.
gayatri taunts him for being so shameless, and for him along with ila to be betraying rita so badly. he asks her to stay away from their marital life, and be in her limits. parimal comes and asks niranjan to behave and talk politely with her. he says that parimal doesnt know what she did. parimal says that he clearly knows what she did. niranjan is shocked, while parimal takes her stand. ila watches this tensedly.
Niranjan starts clapping and taunts them all, saying that this means its a conspiracy of them all. they get into a heated arguement that ends into a scuffle. finally niranjan slaps him bacxk, even though parimal is elderly. rita comes and asks whats going on. their wives separate them. ila is torn as she begs the ladies to take the husbands inside. but before that happens, niranjan again taunts him, and continues to do so, while gayatri asks parimal not to pay attention. both of them are enraged.
They start fighting yet again, as they grab each other’s throats. the ladies are distraught. finally ila screams and separates them, totally apalled, as she collapses on the ground, and asks them to get lost, if they dont want to stay together. she loses her temper and control. rita and gayatri rush to her composure, while she says that she is deafeted in handling her sons. she is crying incoherently, while the sons guiltily look at each other.
She says that she cant fulfill the dream of a joint family together, and in anger, asks them to get lost. she tells gayatri that her kids deafeted her. the ladies cry and take ila away. in her room, they give water to her, and make her calm down and sleep, while she doses off crying. rita and gayatri leave. after they leave, she opens back her eyes, and is tensed.
In her room, gayatri attends to niranjan’s wounds, while he still fumes with anger. he sits outside in the sun, while she asks him to get in. but when he doesnt comply, she too says that she shall stay outside only. In their room, while she is dressing the wounds, Rita asks niranjan what did they fight about, and he eyes her tensedly. she is upset and boggled. she asks him about the meeting he went for in the morning, and then why did he fight with parimal when he returned.
he says that he isnt in the right frame nor has anything to speak to her MEanwhile, niranjan finally comes in, while she comes and asks that he blames her for whatever happened, and starts self victimisation. he denies and says that he would never want toruble in the family. but parimal says that he knew this would happen, and one day it would get so aggressive and hence was warning her not to get ahead with it. he tells her to leave this maaya incident rightaway. she eyes him tensedly. he gets up and leaves.
PArimal and gayatri come out to speak to ila, and find niranjan and rita there too, outside the door. they eye each other tensedly. gayatri goes inside to check and finds that she is fast asleep and tells them the same. they are about to return when the lights go off. they are boggled. niranjan goes to check the fuse. parimal asks them to check on ila, while he goes to help niranjan.
Outside, niranjan is careless, and as a big brother, parimal comes to assistance and keeps guiding him, and niranjan starts getting irritated. he says that he isnt scolding, but is concerned. niranjan fumes and still continues to point out, how gayatri continues to misunderstand him. Parimal asks him to say the truth, niranjan Maintains that he didnt betray rita and asks him to believe. they then together light the fuse back on.
parimal explains that he shall make gayatri understand but he too shouldnt talk to her like that. parimal apologises, for the severe wounds, and finally, after much reluctance, he forgives, and they smile and hug each other.parimal shows that he got hurt too, and animatedly banter.
The doorbell rings, and gayatri opens the door, to find rahul and sameer. she is tensed and awkward as she finds him with a bottle of wine. she begs him not to bother ila as she is already tensed, and then explains what happened. they both are tensed.
In her room, ila is extremely tensed remembering what happened earlier. rahul and sameer get food and juice for her, while she looks away. they got to her, as tears stream down her cheeks. they hug her, while she is tensed still. niranjan and parimal too come,m and beg her to stop crying, and forgive them, as they wont fight ever again. she sulks still. they hug and show that everything is okay, promising that they shall never fight again. after much reluctance, she finally complies in.
then they together feed her food, and amusedly banter. then they give her meds for a peaceful sleep. she complies. they get into bed with her, saying that they shall sleep like childhood. amidst amusing incidents from childhood, they ask her to sing their favourite lullaby. she starts singing caressing everyone and puts them to sleep.
In her room, gayatri is still tensed about parimal’s reaction after the incident. just then, rita comes and asks if she can sleep with her today. gayatri readily complies. they both get to talking. rita comments as to how good it is, that all brothers came together for the sake of the mother. she then hesitatingly brings up how gayatri is still tensed with niranjan about the maya incident, and feels good, as she cares for her just like an elder sister, but she asks her to get it out of her system as its proven now that there was nothing.
gayatri asks rita if the truth is p[roven. rita reminds how ila had vouched in the temple, and asks if she doesnt trust ila, as she is always talking about how ila considers them as daughters, then why doesnt she believe her. gayatri is tensed and upset. she says that ila is very nice, and does love them like daughters, but after all being a human being, and a mother, desperately trying to keep the family together, would naturally and automatically try to keep them all together, and in that case, they would never be preferred over the sons.
She reminds how rita had threatened to leave the house, and any mother wouldnt have been able to tell the truth about her son. rita hurriedly asks her if ila is lying and begs her to be clear. Gayatri asks rita not to trust anyone just by talks without having solid evidence regarding the same.
she asks how could rita simply believe, what ila told without any logic and that she never even understood nor realised that when niranjan didnt have maya’s number, how did ila get it, how she managed to meet maya, and get it disproven that she and niranjan are linked and asks if she has any proof. rita is set to thinking.
The next morning, ila freshens up and then eyes the four sons sleeping lovingly in her bed, and talks to govardhan how all of them got together to wipe her tears, after long years, and feels that his prayers are being answered. she pulls down the shutters so that they keep sleeping.
In the temple, Gayatri says that she didnt want to bad mouth ila, but wanted rita to find the truth, hence planted the seed of doubt in her mind, so that she can save rita’s house. she turns around to find ila there. gayatri asks how is her health. ila tells gayatri that she was a small girl when she first saw her, and she raised her up like a daughter and then she did this with her.
Gayatri feels hurt, and then asks her why she chose only niranjan. she begins to go, but ila asks her whats the matter. she asks ila why she lied. ila says that this is the truth, that there is nothing, and she hasnt lied at all. gayatri is tensed. ila says that she told the half truth, and the remaining she hid only for rita’s sake, and had she knows this, she wouldnt have thought like this. the screen freezes on her tensed face
