Once there was a king 10 January 2022: Raaj mata orders the servants to find Gayatri anywhere possible and bring her to Raaj mata. Gayatri wraps her injury with her saree, she still hears wild animals and thinks she will have to spend this night here. Her foot ached, and she faints.
Raaj Mata asks how it is possible no one saw Gayatri. The servants say that she must ask the ones who were on duty in day time. She tells them to inform her when the servants have arrived. Kunwar ji and Kokilla arrive, Raaj Mata says Gayatri is missing. Kokilla says she doesn’t know about it. Raaj Mata says this isnt a minor thing, she suspects Kunwar ji. Kunwar ji says he last saw Gayatri in Mr. Wilkinson’s house. Swarna and Laksh come there, Swarna tells them that Gayatri had gone with Rana ji. If Rana ji has arrived, she must also have. She asks to look for her in Rana ji’s room. Raaj Mata asks them to stay here, she goes to Rana ji’s room.
Rana ji talked to Surakshna’s photo that this journey is really tough without her. She asks Rana ji where is Gayatri. Rana ji says where she must be. Raaj Mata says this isnt any time for riddles, Seth ji came to meet her a while ago. What if he comes again? Rana ji says that so Gayatri didn’t go her home, she could be of none. Raaj Mata says he must ask who the proof is.The next morning, Gayatri wakes up from under the banana leaves. Her leg ached badly as she struggles to stand up. She does anyway.Raaj Mata brings tea for Kunwar ji. Raaj Mata remembers mixing something in the cup of tea.Gayatri struggles her way out of the forest.Kunwar ji feels dizzy as soon as he finishes the tray. Kokilla asks Raaj mata if she had mixed something in the tea.
Raaj Mata says she mixed the same herb that Kokilla had mixed in Gayatri’s drink on the day of Crowning. Kunwar ji cursed Kokilla, appreciates Raaj Mata’s intelligence. Raaj mata asks Kunwar ji why Gayatri went to Mr. Wilkinson’s. Kunwar ji says she went to save Rana ji from the well, but she herself fell down in it. Kokilla takes Kunwar ji along her. Rana ji heard this all. Raaj Mata asks Rana ji if he will correct his own mistake else she must go to bring Gayatri back. Rana ji says he is sorry, he made a big mistake.Gayatri slips from the cliff and takes hold of a stem emerging from it. She struggles and calls for help.
Rana ji holds Gayatri up , both fell on the ground. Gayatri questions with what right he has saved her, he had lost that right. She heads on. Rana ji still opens her wound and is shocked to see that this is a snake bite. He sucks the poison from her foot and throws it out. Gayatri looks at him, he stares back for a while. Gayatri removes his hand again angrily. Rana ji ties her foot again. He asks her to go. Both wait for a while, Rana ji asks her to go to palace. Gayatri asks if she is a toy, when he thinks right he uses her and when he doesn’t like it he throws it.
The Raja’s of Amirkot must change their decisions, but Raani doesn’t. she won’t come to palace now. Rana ji holds her hand and says he knows the truth. Gayatri says if people throw mud by mistake they apologize, but he deliberately did this, still he wont apologize because he has a crown on her head. He asks sorry, please forgive me Rani Gayatri Devi. Gayatri asks if this is Raja of Amikot or her husband, because her husband had blamed her. Rana ji says he has already apologized, lets go to palace. Gayatri couldn’t walk, Rana ji comes to her and holds her hand. Gayatri says had he heard her before, he wouldn’t have to face this much problem.
Rana ji says had she not gone to Wilkinsons she wouldn’t have got into this all, she doesn’t understand the British and is an idiot. Gayatri wonders if he is really an intelligent person.A man aims at the couple, Raaj Mata comes from behind and asks how his aim is. He says perfect, never missed one. She tells him to take the aim, he takes aim and shoots Gayatri’s arm.Yashoda is shocked to hear Raaj Mata got Gayatri bullet. Raaj Mata says her bullet on the hand never misses. Swarna comes there, Raaj Mata says that she hasn’t gone to her parents for a long time, she must get ready as Raaj Mata will also go there with her.
She asks Yashoda to get her luggage ready, they have to leave before they reach here.Rana ji calls the servants to bring doctor, as he lays Gayatri on the bed. Yashoda gets the doctor, the doctor observes Gayatri. He then says to Rana ji that there is a bullet injury on arm and on the foot? Rana ji says on the foot a snake bit, he removed the poison. The doctor says her foot is much injured what had happened. Rana ji says he couldn’t tell him but they must treat her at any cost. The doctor tells Rana ji that Gayatri isn’t well because the poison spread in the whole body, so she is really weak. Rana ji calls Raaj mata, Yashoda says she had to go to Swarna’s parents house.
Rana ji asks Yashoda to tell servants that they must stay with Gayatri. Yashoda says that in absence of Raaj Mata she wouldn’t let him trust a servant, he must take care of Gayatri by herself. Rana ji takes the responsibility. He asks Yashoda how the doctor was already present in the palace when he hadn’t told anyone about it. Yashoda says that Rajpoots often return injured from forests and Gayatri isn’t used to it, when Raaj Mata told her that Gayatri is coming back after having spent the whole night in forest she called the doctor as well. Rana ji drapes a cloth over Gayatri. He thinks he will find out who did this attack.
Kokilla still asked Kunwar ji who was drunk that who is the worst looking in this palace. Kunwar ji said it is she. Kokilla throws things on him. Kunwar ji asks what he did. Kokilla says she did this all in front of Raaj Mata. Kunwar ji says that she is his queen, he will get anything for her today. Kokilla is elated, she asks Kunwar ji to get her a necklace that is five times expensive than Raaj Mata’s necklace. Kunwar ji asks what a necklace will do if she gets the keys of palace. Kokilla rests and says she has succeeded. Kunwar ji asks if she shot Gayatri. She asks Kunwar ji if he did. He says how he could have got there.
The veiled lady comes to Gayatri’s room.
Gayatri was asleep. She takes a cushion to suffocate Gayatri. Rana ji was coming from the corridor. He rushes towards the room, Gayatri just coughs and the veiled lady gets to dressing room. Rana ji comes to the room and helps Gayatri sit on the bed. He asks Gayatri if she is alright. She jerks him away and tells him not to touch her. He says he is just taking care of her, it was his mistake in English. Gayatri says she had told him she doesn’t know English, he must speak hindi. Gayatri asks will he take care of her the way he did last night. He tells her to be quiet and listen to him. She still murmurs that he is cursing her in English again.
Gayatri asks why he wants to take care of her. He says because this is royal palace, he is Rana and she is his… he tells her to lay down and goes to get soup for her.Kokilla takes Kunwar ji along, they had make a plan that they will tell Seth ji about Gayatri’s injury. They way Seth ji will take his daughter back home. They head towards the way, some men come from behind and kidnap Kunwar ji. Kokilla remains crying.Gayatri sat besides Rana ji. She tells him to go as she has to rest. He tells her to lay down first, then he will leave. A servant brings soup.
Rana ji tells him to taste it. He watches his hand first, then lets him go. Gayatri tells Rana ji that he has been working in the palace for the last twenty years, still he suspects him. Rana ji asks if she will teach him what to do. Gayatri tries to hold the tray, but couldn’t. she tells Rana ji that she can eat by her own self, and holds the bowl. Rana ji takes bowl from her hand, she jerks one bite. He tries again. She jerks again. He doesn’t back off. Finally she takes the bite but with a serious mood. She clears her throat and points at him for the handkey.
He holds it and says she behaves as a five year old child. Gayatri says that a seven years old boy left her in forest last night. Yashoda brings medicines, Gayatri says she doesn’t want to eat bitter medicines. Rana ji tells her to take them without a word. She puts the tablets in the glass and Rana ji for water, she gulps them in and nods. Rana ji straightens up. Yashoda hands Gayatri her boo, and whispers that she hasn’t seen Rana ji caring for someone so much. Rana ji hears this but doesn’t say a word. Gayatri yawns saying she is going to sleep now.
Rana ji tells her to rest, and heads to leave. Gayatri slaps the book on table. Rana ji asks what happened. Gayatri says she doesn’t feel like sleeping, he must call Swarna to read her a story. Rana ji says she has gone to her parent’s house. Gayatri asks when, why, how? That is why she wondered why she hasn’t come worried about her. Rana ji tells her to ask this all when she arrives, but right now Gayatri must rest. Gayatri goes towards the bed, Rana ji walks out of her room.
Kunwar ji was insisting that he didn’t do the attack on Gayatri. He says that good aimers cost too much, he doesn’t have enough money to buy himself a wine bottle. The men try Kunwar ji who was blind folded, to spit something but he doesn’t. Rana ji who stood behind the door tells the men to keep inquiring and punish him for some other mistakes as well. He wonders who got the attack if not Kunwar ji.Gayatri was reading in her room, her arm ached. Rana ji comes in, takes the book and says he will read for her.
She stops him, but he stares. He reads the romantic lines in story. It seemed as their own story. Rana stopped with every line. He stops at an intimate scene, Rana ji asks what kind of book this is. Gayatri who was trying to avoid, says she had forbidden him. She says this is a love story. Rana ji asks what kind of a love story this is, this is mere craziness. He tells Gayatri to read religious and philosophical books. He begins to read one, but Gayatri had long fallen asleep.
He makes way for her on the couch to rest, and sleeps on chair himself. Gayatri wakes up in the middle of night, Rana ji who was sleeping on the chair wakes up. Gayatri wound was bleeding, he asks why she didn’t wake him up. She tells him to leave it and go to sleep, but he gets a dressing. Gayatri feels pain, Rana ji looks at her, then does her dressing as she cried in pain. He changes her bandage, then asks if it pained. Gayatri says she wants to ask him a question, if this care is being done by Amirkot’s Raja or a husband. Rana ji says she will get her answers once she gets well.
Gayatri says that Raja of Amirkot has no right to touch her, only her husband is. Rana ji says he just want her to recover soon. Gayatri says that a Raja, one says will come close to her, the next day he will blame her for getting him closer to herself. And the Rana of Amirkot thinks of her as a low charactered lady. She requests the Rana of Amirkot to leave her room, else she will leave by herself. He stops her and says he will leave by himself. Gayatri silently pleads him to turn once, he also knows she is his wife. Rana ji goes out of the room, then turns and comes back inside. Gayatri heads towards him.
He takes his chair with him and sits outside. He thinks that either she wishes or not, it is his duty to take care of his Raani, and that he will.
