Once there was a King 20 May 2022: Bindu comes looking for Raja, who sat under the dining table crying about Rani. Iqbal follows Rani’s looks towards the papers. Rani hurries to get the candle and asks him to burn her if this can prove her loyalty. Iqbal insists that it’s his duty as a man to protect her, from now onwards she won’t leave this home without his permission. Other than breathing, she has no right over herself anymore. Rani promises, but cries badly after Iqbal has left. Raaj Mata tells Rani that Iqbal may play a dangerous game now, they need to finish this chess. Raja was still under the table. Iqbal arrives with a gift for Rani.
He tells Raaj Mata that he wish to marry Rani today. Raaj Mata was shocked, Raja worried; Rani agreed to Iqbal’s will. Iqbal promises to meet her, even God can’t stop him from making her as his today. He takes a leave, Rani runs inside the room crying. Rani comes to the room and cries badly, Raaj Mata follows her. Rani says she can’t marry someone after having seen Raja in front of her. Raaj Mata insists Rani can’t lose her courage now.
Iqbal bribes a goon to take care of Angat, his death must not be an easy one. Rani was determined to kill Iqbal before he holds another hand over Raja. He must lose his life, while he tried to take Raja’s life. Raaj mata shows Rani a necklace with a knife tied behind her. It was sharp and filled with poison. Rani was ready not to tremble this time, she was ready to go to jail for Raja. Raaj Mata goes to plan for Rani’s flee.
In the room, Bindu was restlessly waiting in the room. Raja comes in. Bindu was worried and says she packed all their bags. Raja says he has a lot in Amirkot, she shouldn’t worry; anything belonging to him would go with him.
In the room, Rani wears the necklace with the knife. Raja enters the room. Rani wonders if he is still in Amirkot and forbids him come forward. Raja stuffs her mouth with a sticker, and carries her away from the palace; not ready to let her go with anyone else. They spot Iqbal coming to palace. Raja drives away. Iqbal turns to see a car leaving the palace. He enters the room and watches the room messed up.
Raaj Mata comes in and was worried looking around, Iqbal says he know well where Rani is and furiously roars Angat!
Rani was still struggling in the car while Raja drove. She was at once successful in getting rid of her hands from robe, pulls the breaks of car and run out. Raja follows her, and holds her in a high speed run. Both fell over, Rani above Raja. Iqbal’s men bring Bindu outside, Iqbal clutches her mouth saying she would tell about Rani’s whereabouts.
Bindu says Angat must have gone to bring tickets, she is unaware about Angat. She is unaware of Rani or Angat. Iqbal finds broken bangles in the doorway, and recalls a car leaving the palace rashly. He leaves with Bindu instructing his men to keep an eye over Raaj Mata.
Rani gets up, while Raja clutches her. She wonders if he has gone crazy. Raja says he still thinks she loves him and not Iqbal, the way she was in his arms last night; how should he accept she loves Iqbal. Rani insists she still loves Iqbal. Raja wonders where her love was last night. Rani asks what he wants to hear, that she would have to live as a criminal’s wife all her life, in poverty and wandering around. She can see a good future with Iqbal, who will keep her in grace all his life. Raja shouts that she only belongs to him, he won’t let her be someone else’s. Rani looks away.
Raja demands to look into his eyes, and prove she doesn’t love him. Rani joins her hands to Raja, requesting him to leave her life. She spots Iqbal’s car and was frightened at once, insisting on Raja to go away. Raja demands her to share the truth with her. Rani trembled in fright, she thinks if she tells him about the truth he would never leave her. She takes him aside, and hits the back of his head. Raja faints at once. Rani holds his face saying she would always love him, she is going away just to return to him.
The next time they meet, she won’t hide her love again. She gets into the car. Iqbal stops the car, just in front of Rani’s. He reminds about forbidding her to get out of the room. Rani says she wanted to go to the temple before getting married. Iqbal demands her about the bangles. Rani explains she fell off in the palace. Iqbal apologizes Bindu, and asks her to come in Rani’s car while he would take Rani in his. They drive away.
Raja comes out of bushes, with his head banging badly. Rani tries not to look at him in back view mirror. Iqbal says for a while he thought Angat kidnapped her away. He stops the car with a jerk. Rani spots the gun lying on the dashboard. Iqbal silently drives away.
Bindu runs to Raja’s help. Rani asks her about Rani. Bindu tells him she went with Iqbal. Raja hurries towards the car to go to palace. Bindu clutches the keys of car.
In the palace, Raaj Mata was restless when Iqbal and Rani come in. She hugs Rani. Iqbal asks Raaj Mata to have inquired Rani where she went, she could have got an interesting answer.
Rani says she has a single reply, to marry at once. Iqbal taunts saying since her bangles were broken today, and it’s a bad omen for her; he won’t marry her today. He demands her to go and become that old Rani again. Raaj Mata looks quizzically.
Raja tells Bindu he has seen the old Rani again, he can’t let anyone be his way now. Bindu loosens her grip over the keys, Raja pushes her aside and drive towards the palace. Bindu was left crying.
Rani comes downstairs, Iqbal appreciates the old Rani and same old hatred in her eyes. He points a gun towards her, Rani assures she never betrayed him. Iqbal pointed the gun towards himself, ready to give his life for her. He pulls the trigger four times, nothing happened. He says only a single chance left. He then asks if she loved him for a second, he would forgive her. He claps in rage about Rani’s game, his love blinded him so badly he couldn’t recognize Raja in front of him. Raja enters the palace then. Iqbal smirks.
Rani was shocked to see Raja. Iqbal welcomes him, as he liked Raja coming in as a man. He hugs Raja, and assures he won’t send him to jail. Raja says time will tell who goes to jail. Iqbal shouts at Rani to say whatever she wanted to say. Raja assures Rani not to be afraid of anyone, they will face this man together. Iqbal wonders why Rani would be afraid of him, he then asks Rani whom she wants to live. He forces Rani to speak on gun point. Rani says she doesn’t want to rethink, Iqbal is her past and future. She only loves Nawab Iqbal Khan. Raja was saddened, and asks her not to be afraid. Rani clarifies she is happy to love Iqbal, and holds his hand.
She recalls when Iqbal was sitting on the couch, Iqbal offered her a way that she would run towards Raja and later on she and Raja would stay happy with Raaj Mata and Ambika. This is going to be her dream only, he will kill them all. He gave her another way, to break Raja’s heart so badly he spends a whole of his life to gather the pieces. In front of Raja, she must be his; this would save their lives and he will get Raja out of Agarwal’s life. Raja will be alive, but she would suffocate to death. This would be her permission to betray him in love.
Rani steps downstairs. Bindu had reached the palace by then. She shows Raja the divorce papers he has signed already, and now signs them. With tears in her eyes, she asks him to leave this place now. She thinks looking into his eyes, it’s the biggest punishment for her to see him leave. Raja replies he won’t leave so easily, he wants to see her as Nawab Iqbal Khan’s bride. Iqbal welcomes Raja there, as he can no more wait. He comes to hug Rani, as she would be his after a single day. Raja leaves.
In the room, Raja kicks the vase and couch away. Bindu follows him and tries to calm him down. She asks what this new drama is, why he wants to destroy his life. Raja says he has to see a lot right now, he won’t leave without watching and understanding that all.
At night, Iqbal comes into Rani’s room and bolts it from inside. She was intrigued. He holds her. Rani says she can’t sleep with him before wedding. Iqbal assures he won’t take his right before wedding, he only wants her to sleep in his lap. He won’t touch her at all, and lay down. Rani was forced to lay. Iqbal gets closer to her and tries to push her with his elbow. Rani removes her elbow and after he had fallen asleep, she points a knife over him. He holds her hand behind, saying this was the fury he wanted to see. He pushes Rani off the bed and steps up the knife. He says she will shed blood for sure, but not his but Raja’s. Rani slaps Iqbal, wondering how he dare even thought about it.
Iqbal smiles at such disrespect and courage; but her courage is weaker than his stubbornness. He hands a gun to Rani to shoot Raja. Rani says she would give away her life, but won’t let any harm to Raja.
Raja was passing by the corridor, and stops at Rani;s room. He had just turned away when Iqbal drags Rani outside. He brings her to a room where Ambika had been tied to a chair. Iqbal wants her to prove to be a wife who is ready to do anything for elders; won’t she still shoot Raja.
Raja comes to the room and was leaving with a gun. Bindu tries to stop him saying Rani doesn’t love him. Raja points the same gun to her, and warns her to come into his way; his love combined with hatred has turned to craziness.
Iqbal gives Rani a time till 10 am after which if she doesn’t shoot Raja his goons would kill Raaj Mata. He gives her an hour to think if she wants Raja as dead and Raaj Mata and Ambika alive; or the three dead. Rani takes the gun and pulls the trigger at Iqbal saying she would kill him. Iqbal says he isn’t a fool to have handed her a loaded gun, he loves her but doesn’t trust her. Rani agrees to do what he wants her to.
