Neil tells Teju she can walk away from the marriage. Teju responds that it’s easy for him to say. She criticizes Neil’s attitude and says that even in a forced marriage, a woman’s self-respect holds value and she won’t compromise it. She sits on the floor, blames Neil for everything that has happened to her, and speaks about her broken dreams. Neil apologizes. Teju tells him not to, saying it feels like mockery. She breaks down emotionally.
Neil and Teju accidentally fall onto the bed. Rituraj enters, makes a sarcastic remark about Neil, and apologizes for interrupting their moment. He hands Teju the tablets she had previously requested. Neil tells Rituraj the tablets aren’t needed and that rest will help Teju. Rituraj throws another comment and exits. Teju complains of a headache. Neil tells her to take the medicine if she wants. Teju refuses and reacts.
Neil brings ice and asks Teju to rub it between her thumb and fingers. Teju agrees. Neil promises to support her dreams and encourages her to focus on her MA exams. Teju doubts whether his family would let her study after everything. Neil responds and tells her to go to bed. He sleeps on the couch. Teju talks to Mukta over the phone. Mukta tells her to be a good daughter-in-law or face judgment about her and Mohit’s upbringing. Teju says she will try. Mukta says being a good daughter-in-law means also being a good wife and asks Teju to consider it. Teju stays quiet.
Teju prepares Modak for her first kitchen ritual and serves them at the dining table. The Pradhan family doesn’t eat them. Leena asks what they are. Teju explains they’re Modak and part of the ritual. Leena tries to throw them away. Teju stops her and forcefully feeds her one. She says it’s Sankashti Chaturthi and the Modak is Prasad offered to Lord Ganesha. Leena eats the Modak and comments on Teju. Teju serves the rest to the family. Prachi and Yash praise her effort and compliment the Modak.
