Working and reuniting with Sriti after almost seven years for a fiction show feels amazing.” He emphasized their great friendship that developed during their time on ‘Twist of fate’ and expressed confidence that the audience would enjoy the on-screen chemistry between Amruta and Virat.

Amruta is a banker, who lives with her father Jayesh, mother Bhavani and brother Harsh. On her parents’ 30th wedding anniversary, she happens to attend the roka ceremony of a wealthy family, Ahuja. One of the heirs, Nimrit, is the main party while the other, Virat, is in charge of the organization. Their mother, Babita, asks her to transfer a large sum of money to the groom’s account as a “roka gift”. While transferring the money, she talks to Harsh over the phone and tells him how rich people give dowry which is called a roka gift, but this conversation is overheard by others who immediately form a very bad opinion about her.
The Ahuja family moves into a penthouse near Amruta’s apartment where the birthday party is being held, adding fuel to the feud. Jayesh has an affair with Ishika, his new neighbor and Babita’s friend. On the same day that the following incident occurs, Jayesh declares that he wants to separate from his wife whom he finds boring and wants to live with Ishika. He thinks his children will choose him, but they choose their mother and go with her and move into the house of Jahaan, their kind neighbor.
After being fired from the bank by Virat, Amruta loses her only chance to support her mother and brother, both a housewife and a student. But by blackmailing the Ahujas into exposing their dowry scam, she finally gets them back, on the condition that she does Virat’s bidding as his PA. Meanwhile, her father seeks a divorce from her mother who refuses to leave the house for the sake of her children.
